Coach Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian.......Staff

No more excuses. Let’s roll Boys and Texanne :hookem:
This has a different feel to it. Our previous two administrations brought with them the supporting staffs from Louisville and Cougar High respectively. In comparison we are now looking at:

BAMA (several) / Notre Dame / Washington / Mississippi State / Texas (remnant or two) Arkansas State (outlier) / and possibly UCLA.

This feels big time.

cnb,

The difference is a coach who is not insecure and one that can get people to work for him. Herman's insecurity cost him hugely. Pretty much everyone in coaching knew Charlie was going to fail, thus he couldn't get people to take the jobs even with egregious contracts that bordered on criminal.

We now have an adult in charge.
It used to pain me when I would listen to L. Riley and hear his seriousness and understand that he was an adult, in charge of his program.
Then listen to Herman who comes across more like a frat boy living his dream.
"How dare you question me. This is really, really hard".

Sark is an adult with his game theory in place.
I am pleased and excited for the future of Longhorn football.

Let us hope

But there will be a monkey involved

HC - Sark -- do you feel better about Urban now? He certainly works and speaks well. Seems like a good fit to me. Will need to monitor his social habits I guess

OC/OL - Flood -- In just 3 days on the job, he has already offered the top 2 national OTs in 2022 and a 3rd in the top 10, all of whom he was recruiting to Bama. Hand had offered none of them

QB coach - AJ Milwee - Sark's 2d hand man. No doubt Sark will be involved in all of this part of the team.

WR coach - Coleman - for continuity I guess. He is at least better than his immediate predecessor. I was hoping for Wiggins or Colbert

RB coach - Drayton - no way could we afford to lose Bijan

TE coach - Banks - Terrific recruiter. Entertaining life. Just dont get us in trouble

------------------------------------------------------
DC coach - Pete Kwiatkowski - Sark got a solid DC, and kept the hire quiet until the very end. Impressive. UDub fans are still crying

Dline coach - Bo Davis - Quick hire. Good recruiter. Welcome back, just dont get us in trouble

LB coach - ?

CB coach - Terry Joseph - Another quick hire. Did a pretty good job at ND, and recruited Texas while there. I wanted Cory Raymond but TJ seems like a good schemer for the secondary

Saftey/ST coach - Gideon - Hard worker. Like Coach K, the old school did not want to lose him (which is the opp of the Herb Hand hire if you recall)

... LB coach - ?...

Could be this guy -- "USC's LB coach John Nansen is supposedly a beast on the recruiting trail. He was PAC-12 Recruiter of the Year last cycle."
He would obviously have great West Coast connections, a region we are in a good position to exploit right now

Sark has said it is very important to hire coaches that have recruited this stare. He said that the high school coaches in the state are great and have a lot more influence over the kids decisions and it is important to have relationships with the coaches in the state. Someone asked about balancing recruiting in Texas vs out of state. He said, Texas will be the focus, but UT has the brand to go out of state to pick up someone like Bijan Robinson. Thus they will look to pick up some kids out of state also. However they need to really make Texas a priority.

The new coaches on staff so far with at least a decent amount of experience recruiting Texas
Banks
Davis
Joseph
Drayton
Coleman
Gideon
Flood
Kwiatowski

Is moving from the NFL back to where you were 2 years ago concerning? Bo Davis

Not only did the Lions replace their head coach but they did it with an aggy, who immediately hired another aggy as the new DC. So he was out of there either way.
Davis had a good rep as a solid college DL coach before that. Good enough for Saban to hire twice, and there were rumors he wanted him back a third time. He's coached a lot of great college DLs over the years.

Only?s I have are looking to fill that LB spot....and I'm with you on Wiggins or Colbert, though I am not too down on Coleman. He hasn't done Wiggins or Colbert work I don't think, but overall I think handled his biz. The new coach should help him.
First move...
Put JWhitt and Jake on field at same time...
..and keep Troy healthy

Another possible LB coach is Chris Marve, current Florida State linebackers coach and defensive run game coordinator. Originally from Texas (I think) but started coaching at Vandy, his alma mater.

One of the hot young names in the assistant coach world. Good recruiter. Sharp. Was a 3-year captain at Vandy. Coached Zach Cunningham

Coach PK was on the radio in Seattle today
He said he loved his time in WA, but wants a new challenge.
He wants the opportunity to build something special in Austin.
And he wants to go against Big12 offenses.
