Coach Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian.......Staff

So you are saying the delay in firing Tom Herman is because UT was 3 million short? Okay....

Not even close. The money was in the pot last August. Blaming Chris for the timing is ludicrous. All the political **** going on last summer and through the season, caused timing to be delicate, YET CDC managed to have discussions with and about several potential candidates without it ever leaking out to clowns like the AAS or Chip Brown.

I just take exception to you criticizing the timing. I wanted it done last summer.

Sabre, my only question is, why January 2nd, not that it matters that much to me. But why not after the KSU game or, for that matter, after the ISU loss. Or, the RRR and Sam’s iconic moment?

Keeping the 21 class together? Doesn’t seem like a strong reason. In fact, I would argue that a termination prior the Dec 6 might have helped us.

Persuading all the different factions to support the move “even though” they weren’t going to get Meyer? Plausible to me.

Knew who he wanted, Sark, but didn’t have the acceptance yet? Plausible.

CDC took plenty of (unnecessary?) incoming in December, That is, unless he had no choice because for one of the reasons noted above — or one not listed — he couldn’t pull the trigger prior.

I had the same thought. Anyone think there is a chance? Especially if their O-line coach comes to UT.

Ewers being a year away, I agree that visits are warranted. I will lose tons of respect for Sark if he tries to get the Brocks.

We had a golden opportunity, which was almost impossible to screw up, yet Herman found a way. After all that Saban has done for Sark, and the fact that it is my understanding that the boys have already signed, you don't burn that bridge. There will be other OL come along. Don't destroy a solid relationship over two OL. Go coach up what you have, get to the playoffs and beat them there. Smile, shake hands, and they will know what could have been.

Agree, with this caveat. If Sark lays low (which I expect) and the Brocks approach him, it might get interesting. In my delusional (or not) scenario, they contact him, he calls Saban and explains that out of respect for him, Sark will not engage. However, if the Brocks subsequently approach Saban and request an LOI release, what can Sark do? Say no?

If I am the Brockermeyers and if indeed Texas was always my dream destination, and if the OL coach I expected to have at Bama will now be at Texas, I cannot imagine their not having some second thoughts.

I personally do not think Sark will push very hard for the Brocks, question the legality of doing so, and doubt seriously any success will be had there.
Now Ewers is a possibility.. though it would surprise me somewhat with Ohio State's current success

My preference would have been to fire Herman in August, make Yurcich interim and begin the search. I have no proof, but I believe that certain BMDs wanted him gone, but weren't sure that all believed would could find a quality replacement. Once Meyer reached out (he knew Herman was toast last August), it became apparent that in spite of a few pimples, we were still one of the candidates for Homecoming Queen.

As I have posted previously, I was not overly enthusiastic about Sark being the choice, but my BMD friends in Alabama told me we were getting a steal, and while Saban did not want to lose him, Saban would promote and recommend him for the job.

Juggling the egos of everyone involved is like juggling anvils, and we will never know who was causing what problem. We now have a chance to rid ourselves of the trash that was 2020, and start fresh in 2021 with a quality staff.

What difference would it have made if the hire would have been done in November or December? Sark would still have been coaching the Championship game for Saban. We have lost nothing by waiting.

I believe the proposition of an early canning of Herman was to get the signatures of the Brock bros in December.

Would they have sat by waiting to see who our coach was? Would Saban have waited on them?

The Urban Myth scenario had to be played out because he was a once a lifetime hire.

Like you said, the proper time was August to fire Herman, particularly if December signing day was key. In the end, other issues were higher priority and needed to be sorted before the trigger was pulled.

Yep, his *** should have been fired while the ink was wet on his fans are racist comments.

If Sark is what we think he will be; if he assembles the staff was are anticipating; and if he closes well on NSD2, the timing discussion will probably become moot. Let’s hope so.

Cal. SC coach torre Becton is Expecting to join Steve Sarkisian Texas staff

While I shall never be thrilled with anyone that has even walked across the Berzerkley campus, much less graduated from there (see also Berdahl, Powers, Fenves), it is his choice, and he worked with the guy at USC & Washington, plus Petersen thought enough of him to retain him when he took over from Sark in Seattle.

Did you know her? Looks like a nurse that worked downtown and lived up off 2920 and 45. Hers was a story not even Jerry Springer could dream up.
