Change at Tech?

Well, wacko vs dust bowl is debatable, but I'd still choose wacko.

No question. It's got decent natural scenery, what with trees and water and all. It's got a brand new stadium that's barely been used for D-1 football. Plus, you're choosing between a program that ran off a coach for a stupid reason or a program that basically tried to keep their coach for ANY reason. Pretty easy call, IMO.

Coach Bro is popular

He should be. The guy can coach offense, and the NFL clearly has decided it's going to have to go all-in on the spread pretty soon, so he's going to have his shot with any number of pro teams if he wants it. If I were him, I'd take a high profile OC job for a head coach that will mentor him and take his time this time around.

Tech big money also interested in Dana Holgorsen

So word is Dana Holgorsen did want the job but Kirby Hocutt refused to give him an interview. All of it seems a little surprising but this is what they are saying. Tech AD cutting his own path

Burkhardt implied the deal is agreed upon, but nothing is signed while the NFL is calling.

It's an interesting choice for him. I would like to know his thought process. The NFL came begging as that Rams-KC game got the whole league thinking about Big 12/spread offenses.

Rumor is that Aaron Rodgers is pushing hard for Green Bay to hire him, but HC is pushing back. If GB hired KK as HC (not a chance), that would open the door for Linc to leave Norman

That might be true. I was surprised he went with USC so quickly, given the current terrain. But, maybe he didnt?

been listening to sports talk radio from Lubbick for last 30-45 min---lot of irate tceh fans in regards to hiring of Matt Wells (apparently a done deal) and not even trying to talk with Holgorsen---they(fans) seem to think that the hire is based upon money (and lack of spending it)--only time will tell if it's a decent hire

The only coup for Tech would be if Wells convinced his old friend Aranda to leave LSU and be his DC.

Aranda, however, would have to be careful and not drive through Rusk after leaving Baton Rouge for Lubbock

What about Leach? Who was also willing to talk to them
