ICU beds and hospitalizations still going down in Houston region.

Cases in Sept-Nov will skew younger as in K-12 and college students. The impact on hospitals won’t be detectable.

Novel concept. Think you can sell that to GE, Seimans, medical schools, or particularly big pharma.

Siemens...worked 8 years in financial services for one of their divisions... best company and greatest professional job I ever had....

But, no excuses for any bad pandemic decisions they make.

It’s running rampant at UT now. I have a Sr and a So there. They both have CV and all their roommates have it. 12 kids total. And they want to go camping this weekend. It’s like herding cats! Just nuts!

It's been maybe 2 months ago when I saw on the bar at bottom of the screen the SEC network has that both Jack Nicklaus and his wife contracted the virus and recovered. They're both 80. But by all means let's stop playing now else millions will die.

The chart is “reported cases”
What about the unreported cases?
Between my son’s Frat and daughter’s sorority there are enough cases for UT to make this list. Extrapolate that across the entire UT community.
The only statistics you can trust are the ones you falsified yourself. Winston Churchill

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^!!!
What people are failing to see is that #of cases means little to nothing if
A) the virus has become more docile
And
B) you're dealing with persons with very low risk factors (most everyone even outside of sport)
Look at the hospitalizations and death totals across the country right now....especially amongst athletes.....
It is virtually nil.
How people can avoid this fact in their assessments is beyond comprehension
...well, if not for....

The point of the table was that these student cases, reported or not, are not leading to hospitalizations.

I noticed ou had another starter...a dlineman...opt out of season.
Get prepared for excuses when we whop them upside da head with a corndog in a few weeks...if they even show up.

If Texas wins, I doubt to hear any excuses from OU. In my 25 years of watching these games, they take their lumps and drive on. Only time I ever heard any crawfishing was when they had J Blake as their head coach, the 90's version of the Charlie Strong Experience.

Fact is, a loss to Texas doesn't put them out of the conference race. Since 2000, Texas has won the OU game in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2015, and 2018. Yet OU still won the conference championship in 06, 08, 15, and 18.

OU has twice as many B12 titles (4) in years that Texas beat them, than Texas has over the same 20 year period (2).

Now they take the title and then get blown out in whatever major bowl they go to, that's good for a smile, but OU can recover from a loss to Texas without it impacting the rest of their season.

You may be right, Duck....but I see something else in Riley most haven't seen yet. You gotta admit he's had it pretty easy, right? I see someone who wont look so pretty if lumps come his way. I've heard quite a bit of moaning out of him already this offseason. We'll see...

But two years ago, his team lost to Texas, then ran the table for the rest of the regular season and then beat Texas in the B12 game. Shows that OU can overcome a loss to Texas without any impact on the rest of the season.

Now if the wheels come off completly, and OU ends up with 4-5 losses, we'll see. But there's no pressure on him to win this year, not after 36-6 the past 3 years and 3 conference titles. Losing may chap him, but won't impact his standing as a coach.

It will be the new version of the Georgia excuse except they will have to come up with two excuses - one for the October game and one for the December game.

Per your request, UT has made the list:

Texas is back to June 1 in terms of ICU beds filled, etc. My guess is that positives approach 5% by Oct 1, which means in theory we can have 50% capacity in stadium.

MC,

I want you to be right and appreciate your hard work, BUT the state has been at 12% positive for weeks, and we have 23 million untested. The left in Harris County continues to set up and advertise free testing in low income areas in an attempt to spike the numbers before November.

The Big XII needs to support the BigTen because Warren may be the only P5 commissioner dumber than Bowelsby.

As predicted, media is going to BFE (Dakotas) to find someplace where cases are increasing to keep up the fear porn. Where to next? American Samoa?

In case you are wondering, cases already falling. The media is so lame and predictable. Printing ink regarding a state that has 200 cases per day.
