Chance of Football in 2020

I do, if it is me or my family or anyone I know.Dont you?
Since I don't think most people will get very sick from it, no. And, I had it, so I'm not worried for me. But, if someone I know, and I have known a few, gets the Covid, sure I would care, but not any more than if they got sick otherwise from anything else.

Not really.
I can honestly say my family and I have paid little to no attention to this whole thing. I don't mean that pridefully, arrogantly, or any other-aly. Just a simple assertion of fact.
Sounds like my Preacher. He is 88 and never has been concerned about it. Better man than me.

Well....I hope you know I certainly meant no disrespect to you or anyone who feels differently. I have criticisms of entities who I believe are not acting with complete honesty, integrity or in good faith....but very little if any for individuals who view it differently.
And your preacher story reminds me of my buddy Sonny at church....think hes 85. Hes right up front always huggin, high fivin, and living it up w my family and anyone else who's game.
And he and his wife both have upper respiratory issues they've had for years...but I digress...

None taken,Thats why we all have different personalities.

Tate Martell wants a head start on free agency.
Report: Tate Martell opts out of 2020 season
Great line on D'Eriq King from that piece lends insight as to why Tate couldn't rise on that depth chart:
"It’s going to be interesting to watch because he’s got an arm, bro. He flicks that thing and it just spins, 100,000 miles an hour. He can throw it through a car wash and not get it wet."
Lol...poor Tate....How can you compete with that??

So far no impact of college football on hospitalizations:

Over 48,000 college students have now tested positive for the coronavirus
Two have been hospitalized.
Zero deaths

But another thread says testing athletes is good because TB testing was mandatory over 50 years ago. And the same number of people have died, lol, from Covid as TB this year according to one poster, so I guess Covid is as bad. That discounts the fact that TB has been around compared to Covid. As we develop immunity to Covid, it will fade away. TB still kills over a million annually.

Just to play devils advocate.
Do they know how many people these positive students infected?
Parents, grandparents, old person or immune deficient person they came into contact somewhere?
Were they hospitalized?
Any dead or dying?

If they are on campus or near campus (as they should), then that is the safest place for them to be in terms of being isolated from older folks. Remember, you have to compare against an alternative. It’s not in a vacuum.

If the kids (college and younger) had stayed in school last year till June, they all would have been immunized by now. Lockdown was a huge mistake. Masks and distance okay, but lockdowns made things worse.

Okay everyone needs to make a separate one time donation to HornFans. Dion needs a break. The amount of time he is spending moderating these posts and switching “On the Field” posts to “West Mall” is mind boggling. Plus, “On the Field” is dominated by “Off Season” posts causing this old man to question what month it is.

Bump. I’m serious.

Meanwhile on my daughters locked down campus ONE student has tested positive (this week) since arriving in August and the liberal president says if there is one more positive she's shutting down the entire campus and sending everyone home. Meanwhile the city is over run with people shopping the pot shops not wearing masks, etc. Tax money good....students irresponsible....What's wrong with these people?

Bizarre.

I was mocked on this thread (IIRC) months ago by ignoramuses saying a more contagious virus is inherently less deadly because it occurs higher up in the respiratory system (plus I provided other links showing deadliness vs contagiousness).

What is also interesting in the Houston linked study is that the virus showing up in Houston in March was predominantly a mutated one from Europe. Not the original Wuhan one from China in Dec 2019.
Damn those viruses are sneaky and determined to survive. We are lucky it doesn't easily take down healthy people
