CFB Playoffs: Horns vs Clemson Tigers Game Thread

Exactly. Pinpoint accuracy like that will get him drafted high.
Only thing I can add about klubnik’s performance is that Coach K ‘s soft zone gave his receivers time to find open space and at the same time he had time to go through his progressions and get them the the ball.
I think ASU won’t see as much of it as Clem did. A big dose of pressure and man coverage could be on the horizon for the sun devils.

Dabo had a good game plan. You could see a few times our secondary frustrated with each other, but they made way more good plays than bad. They’ll dominate ASU.

And it's even more impressive -- Parker had moved over to his side of the line for a lot of plays, so he shut down Clemson's star Edge/DE Parker. And Parker was one BAMF on the film.

Banks = upper 1/2 of the 1st round NFL draft. Maybe upper 1/4.

ASU has a good power running back (a "fullback" in the language of previous generations), and they like to fire out and ram it down the opponents throat in the run game.

So, we'll probably be up on the line, covering gaps, stopping the run, and daring ASU's QB to take on our secondary down the field.

Parker had 3 tackles and o.5 tfl. Good job by the oline.

No way he drops below 5…

This guy, in game 2 of his college career and as a true freshman, stonewalled two future first round Alabama edges (as we all know). No way the NFL doesn’t understand how valuable he is.

My apologies to the team for my prediction of the game and assessment of areas of Texas being out performed.
I do think that I was right about the Clemson receivers creating more space with better routes.

But this was a very good complete game by Texas and makes mr hopeful going forward. Good play. Good discipline. Good coaching!
Merry Christmas.

Glad you came back and addressed it. I thought you were very pessimistic, but some of your pessimism turned out to be warranted.

For my part, I was far too optimistic in thinking our D could pretty much shut Klubnik and Clemson down cold.

I think some of you have forgotten.....its hard to win.
Mike McCarthy after the Cowboys’ win over the Buccaneers, “Winning is hard.”

Wow - that’s pretty impressive, and special for multiple readingss (December home game, 1st CFP win, orange lighting, and a full house singin’ the Eyes with gusto). This is a far cry from Sam on the field by himself.

Sark and CDC and their entire staff and players should be proud of this. They’ve built something very special.

🤘🤘Horns Up to this team!!
