Boyer' open letter to Kaepernick

I did not say that the protests had no impact. I said it was not as big as the cord cutters. I've also said the impact was dwindling to miniscule until the President decided to use it as a lever to divide us - great leadership there. 10 people did it the week before out of a population of 1,700ish.

That happened last year too.

Returned for the playoffs/SB ...

Then the idiots doubled down this year and the league did nothing.

C ya

It was going away on its own. If you disagree with that you don't like the basic facts. Market forces were going to address it. Just like when the Dixie Chicks spoke up about President Bush. They paid for their freedom of speech monetarily.

... and ESPN lost its marbles when the Stro’s Accepted the WH invite.

Done with ESPN.

That's your prerogative, but I think its mighty snowflake-y.

To the best of my knowledge, one ESPN commentator (Max Kellerman) lost his marbles one time on one show, for a handful of minutes. I don't watch 24-7, but I've yet to see anyone else touch the topic other than to take Kellerman to task for bringing politics into sports.

I watch various ESPN talk shows something like 5-10 hours a week. Most weeks, there is no mention of anything remotely political. When there is mention of politics, it rarely persists more than a minute or two. If you can't handle that, I'd suggest that the problem does not lie with ESPN.

That's your prerogative.

It's not a question of whether I CAN handle it ... it's whether I WILL handle it. Life's too short ... and ESPN has steadily increased its quotient of politics beyond sports issues (ie regulatory issues surrounding sports coverage would be relevant ... or like when congress actually starts proposing law regarding sports) ... and the kicker is ... they almost always support a leftist agenda.

So ... is ESPN about sports with a dash of everyman politics ... or is it about/becoming about the agenda of the left. Throw around some self-considered clever blurbs like you think you're a late night comedy act ... rather than what rule changes to a sport are being considered/implemented.

But at least you agree this guy was so far off "the reservation" he could no longer see it.

Yet more bad ratings

Have to concede that the KC game ended well in terms of excitement but many likely had long since tuned out before the second half kickoff.

Cannot speak to the Buffalo game other than final score seemed to suggest a poor game from a viewing perspective...it was on the big screen while I was playing at Durant, but I didn't spend any time watching.

That being said, neither match-up was one that would have lured me to the screen if I had been looking to fill three or four hours of my day. The NFL is basically dead to me...and yes, the political nonsense has much to do with that.

"Trump not knowing the words to the national anthem" and "NFL players not standing for the national anthem" are both meaningless to me. I really couldn't care less about either one.

But the irony is funny.
Oh, I agree completely. Much like the tax bill and debt. Since Obama was in office the right has, without fail, mentioned the national debt at every turn...until 1/20/2017. Ironic.

then you are screening what you accept or consider to be "right"

What I find ironic is that the left's criticism of tax cuts is that it'll "explode the debt" ... yet for all that period where the right highlighted the debt, the left insisted that the debt wasn't bad ... but now the debt is bad.

back to point ... the kneelers will loath the day. and they'll have only themselves to blame for being duped. 5 hours of NFL in Feb? hahaha ... nope ... will remain NADDA as it's been since the first week of preseason this year.

NFL will catch-on sooner or later. So will the rest of ya.

I'm more disgusted by the lack of business sense exhibited by these companies more so than the actual politics being pushed. For instance, Target's pushing their weird bathroom policy. Why would that make any business sense at all to piss off a good portion of your customers? Target reneged to some extent after they saw blowback from their customers but why was it ever thought to be a good idea? The NFL is even more stupid given their customer base is more red than blue.

then you are screening what you accept or consider to be "right"

Are you wanting to argue that "Stro's" is correct in your usage? "Stros" is short for "Astros" so the apostrophe goes before the "S" to denote dropping the "A". Using an apostrophe before the last "s" shows possession, which there is none in your sentence.

I think I, and the left, are bringing up debt BECAUSE that was a clanging bell that the right rang ROUTINELY, and not without reason at times, from 1/20/2009 until 1/19/2017. It's just the hypocrisy that it seemed to not matter much from 1/20/2001 - 1/19/2009 and 1/20/2017 - present.

Same on Executive Orders, golfing, vacation costs, etc.
