Bin Laden dead

God dammit. The President of the United States of America made a HARD decision to infiltrate and kill No. 1 enemy of the United States of America resulting in Justice for the 3000. Also we grabbed a crap load of intelligence and none of our heroes lost their lives. We also embarrassed the lax and corrupted/compromised Pakistani military structure.

IT WAS A HARD DECISION BY OUR PRESIDENT to launch an operation such as this. I just can't believe that anyone that graduated from the University of Texas could believe any of the conspiratorial crap being spewed here. Not us. Not ever. You who believe are just losers. You need help.

To believe otherwise is just WEIRD. Christ. Think for yourself.

We got the MoFo through studious effort.

So , among others, Rep King, NY said
"Rep. Peter King:

“You mentioned the fact that we obtained information several years ago, vital information about the courier for Osama. We obtained that information through waterboarding. And, fo for those who say that waterboarding doesn’t work, that it should be stopped. We got vital information that directly led us to Bin Laden.”

No poster on here who is not a fan of Obama has said he doesn't deserve credit for this> He does.
Bush has said it, Cheney had said it, Rumsfeld has said it, Hughes has said it.Rice has said it, Rove has said it
Obama deserves a ton of credit.

When will Obama or anyone in his admin or any Bush hater on here admit Bush's policies deserve some credit as well?

Obama deserves credit!

AS HHDad pointed out this is but a milestone. Hard dangerous work is still ahead

I think the biggest mystery was why Pakistani millitary and polices didn't respond during that 40 minutes and plus time those helicopters flew over their airspaces. This is a country of 100 millions people armed to the teeth and technically at some sort of wars with both India and Afghanistan. They had radars, SAM, and F16s. Obviously US airforce already had fighters waited in the sky. But I guessed at the same time helicopter crossed the border Petraeus or someone must call Pakistani chief of staff and asked them to stand down. What if they don't obey and the house turned out to be empty? We will have the 4th war and all blames will be with Obama.
That is the gutsy call of this century so far and why McCain said he couldn't act when he was aked same question in 2008.
Can't wait for the movie as well. Who will play Obama?

"Terror is bigger than one person." That is the broader view.

The intel on the courier came under the Bush admin.

The US has been flying drones into Pakistan for some time. Flying a couple of helicopters in there is still violating their airspace just the same as drones are.

Does anyone expect Pakistand to actually fire on the US military?

Its much more likely that Pakistan allowed them to go in, but I wouldnt be shocked if it was in secret either. Again, the JSOC is a very very secretive operational unit.

What lie did I say about the Obama campaign?

I said he campaigned that he would go into Pakistan, as well he should.

I’m not twisted up about anything as far as giving credit to the Bush Administration.

You might actually step back and think for a minute - and you might realize that the actionable intelligence that was obtained, and that I have repeatedly cited to, also occurred during Bush’s presidency.

What I take issue with, and have repeatedly discredited, is your repeated attempt to justify EIT in order to support an untenable position derived from some sadly pathetic teenage, fictionalized Jack Bauer fueled fantasies.

I did not try to justify anything here. Just said your post was hilarious. Thank you for that.

He could be partially right. It appears this might have all happened at a "black site" not GITMO.

Obama was also against "black sites" btw.

So how long does it take Pakistan to DNA test their samples of Osama's blood/brains they scraped up off the floor and confirm Osama's death? It would sure be a pisser to find out 50 years from now Holder had Osama entered into the WPP in exchange for information.

Some days you can never forget
This girl will certainly never forget her 16th birthday no matter how hard she might try
I will always remember where I was and what I was doing when I learned of the first airplane that day - I was sitting at a computer attempting to compose a comforting note to an old friend from Austin whose great dog had died the night before. It was very hard to find the right words after that. Any words really

I have the same sort of clear recall for the Challenger disaster. I was in Austin eating alone at Julio's Tacos (Clarksville). Julio asked me if I had heard, I had not. He called me into the kitchen where we watched silently together on a little B&W tv.

Think of all the moments and days of your life you have forgotten. But certain moments are stuck in there for eternity. I swear I can still smell Julio's kitchen from that day. I saw this pic and wondered if this girl remembers her cake in that same way?
