Big 12 tournament

Good win. Yes, the 4th Q wasn't pretty but our studs got a lot of rest. They'll need all that energy in the championship game
 
Horns move into the finals against BU. Texas beats WVU 67-51. Kinda of helter skelter there in the fourth without much scoring for a while. WVU about doubled our scoring in the fourth, 15-8 to slice into the 23 pt Texas lead going into the fourth.

For the second game in a row, Celina was the leading scorer with 12 pts. Brooke and Ariel had 11 pts apiece with Imani adding 10 pts. LaShann had 9 pts and Tasia added 8 pts. WVU's Holmes had another poor shooting game, going 3-12 for 8 pts with Ariel and LaShann the primary defenders.
 
If we play like we did the first three quarters today, we will give Baylor a run for their money tomorrow night.

Most encouraging thing I saw today (and yesterday) was not on the court. It was on the sidelines. Karen is proving to be a coach who learns from her mistakes. Much, much better at using her bench. Much...

Celina leading the team in scoring again is very important. This team is going to need her and the other perimeter players outside of Brooke to give consistent offensive production in order to win tomorrow and in the tournament. I also hope that Imani and Kelsey show up tomorrow ready to play better than they have the first two games against baylor.

I LOVE the play they ran for Higgs to get to the bucket, everyone was lined up straight across the court at about the free throw line. Higgs with the ball up top and just scoots around the end for an easy layup. They ran this to perfection! Love it!!!

You're so right! And fresh legs for tomorrow night's game. I noticed Mulkey's starters played a lot of minutes....guess she wanted to run up the score. Hope that comes back to bite'em tomorrow night.

Sea Hag. Typical La Tech trash. Leon Barmore may have been an oaf with a bad dye job, but he was always a gentleman and got great effort. Have I mentioned that I still hate Theresa Witherspoon?
 
This is the final opportunity for Imani, Empress, Celina and Brady to get a "W" vs. the Bears. Yes our younger players need to step up, but these seniors should be determined to lead this squad to victory tonight. We should feel no pressure since everyone expects the Bears to win given the outcome of our two conference matchups. And neither squad is going to have their NCAA seeding impacted, regardless of outcome. If we win the Bears are still a #1 seed, and if we lose we're still a solid #2. Let's get it done, Horns. Refuse to lose!!!!
 
I want to see and hear what happens when Texas shocks the womens college basketball world, since everyone expects a blowout in favor of baylor (shocking the college basketball will be so sweet)!!! final countdown song is playing in my head. But either way my horns will be up,:hookem2:!!
 
Really like the way Karen has down played this matchup and encouraged the players to enjoy the moment.

Aston, on how the game could affect a run at a possible No. 1 seed: "I don't know that either one of us are going to change our seeds with what happens tomorrow night, so it should be a fun game, should be competitive. Our players should have fun and enjoy the moment."

Had to look up "Sea Hag" in the Urban dictionary.
Here's their definition: "They usually were cursed from early age with having large breasts and developed "out of control" egos from over attention by horny boys and men. They tend to have bleached blond hair and favor green and blue eye shadow. They are mostly loud, over-dramatic, gossipy and are revering alcoholics, coke heads, etc. One major indicator sign of a "Sea hag" are the Christian "Born Again" bumper stickers on their cars...such as "TRUTH," "The Chosen," etc.
