Big 12 Teams-News not Related to Texas

Tech has offered 2020 Emani Jenkins, 6-1 HS soph from South Oak Cliff in Dallas. She plays PG, SG & SF positions in HS.

Oklahoma State picks a 2019 commit: 6-3 post Kennedi Jackson of Ursuline Academy in New Orleans, LA, ranked the #18 post by ESPN.

McElroy is a 5-10 G from Trinity Valley CC. When she graduated from Dallas Richardson in 2016, she was the 62nd overall ranked player and the 18th ranked PG. She originally signed with Texas A&M for the 2016-17 class. She should be eligible to play this season.

Ok. State signed JC Bigue Sarr, a 6-3 Center entering her soph season at South Georgia Tech. Sarr was selected to play in the NJCAA WBCA ALL-STARS game this summer.

Tech misses out on #63 G Kyra White who commits to Southern Cal.

Kansas makes the final three for 6-0 W Aijha Blackwell.

She could be. More than just the fact that she’s a really good player is that she’s going to play a lot of minutes because of that need. The majority of the other freshmen in the conference are playing on teams where they won’t get the same amount of playing time right away.

Seems like BU's Morris is enrolled at BU and will sit out this year (RS?) with the option to return for next season to complete her college career. Discussion about this begins about halfway down page four.

ISU adds scorer. Coach Fennelly expects big things from frosh Joens.
ISU, in need of scorers, welcomes Joens' arrival
The Cyclones need scorers, if only to ease the load on senior star Bridget Carleton, and if Joens has shown anything in her career, it's a knack for making baskets -- from the perimeter, inside or on the move....In many ways, she's similar to Carleton because of her versatility. Along with her 3-point shooting, Joens can pass, post up or beat a defender off the dribble, which is what Carleton has been doing the past three years.

WVU picks up two JUCO posts currently in their final year in JUCO.

Blessing Ejiofor, 6'5" C Sophomore @ Chipola College for the 2018-19 season, originally signed with Vanderbilt and played there in 2017-18, getting limited playing time. She is from Ebonyi, Nigeria. She arrived in the states in 2014.

Pretty sad how these girls are taken advantage of. https://news.vanderbilt.edu/vanderbiltmagazine/unexpected-blessing-blessing-ejiofor-is-thankful-to-be-at-vanderbilt-after-high-school-recruiting-scandal/

Not sure why Ejiofor transferred from her “dream school” but I am sure that Coach Carey is quite happy to sign her.

Jada Wright, a 6-3 F/C soph. from Rich East HS in Park Forest, IL. Currently at Trinity Valley CC.

Doesn't really belong here but we do play UTRGV this year and maybe next season as well.

Tech gets commitment from 5-11 W Alexis Tucker from Junipero Serra HS in Hawthorne, CA. She is ranked the #67 overall player and the #12 Wing by ESPN.

Big 12 WBB Tipoff Wrap Up: POINT GUARD WILL BE KEY FOR LADY BEARS - Baylor University
One of the keys for the Lady Bears will be finding a point guard from a list of candidates that includes grad transfer Chloe Jackson from LSU, junior Juicy Landrum, sophomore DiDi Richards and freshman Honesty Scott-Grayson.
"I've never gone into a season without a true point guard, but this will be a challenge for us," Mulkey said. "They're learning, they have to get comfortable, and I think they're adequate at it, but they know they're not true point guards. The thing about them is one quarter they may be playing point, then the next quarter I may have then at the off guard. They understand they're going to have to play multiple positions.

KSU set to host nation's leading HS scorer from last season, 5-7 PG Shemera Williams.

Shemera Williams, a 5-foot-7 point guard from Milwaukee will be in Manhattan on her official visit to K-State....According to MaxPreps, Williams’ 39.9 points per game were the highest in the nation among high school girls....Along with her nation-leading point per game average, Williams grabbed an average of 11.8 rebounds per game to go along with 7.1 assists and 5.2 steals.

Tech gets a commitment from 5-10 soph. F Ricka Jackson from South Georgia Technical College. She is from Ewa Beach, HI. She was an invitee to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Star showcase in Atlanta.

Kansas gets a commit for 2019. Zakiyah Franklin is a 5-7 PG from Winter Haven HS in Lakeland, FL. She is ranked overall #60 and #14 PG by ESPN.

Gotta say I got used to seeing our PG on this list the last couple of years. Congrats to KSU's Goth who is the only Big 12 PG named.

Tennessee forward Lou Brown suffered a torn ACL in preseason practice, coach Holly Warlick announced Friday.

Brown, a graduate transfer from Washington State, is out indefinitely after suffering the injury Wednesday.

"While she may be out of action due to this unfortunate injury, I would not be surprised to see Lou still find a way to impact this team in a positive manner as she goes through the recovery process," Warlick said in a statement.

Brown, a 6-foot-3 forward from Melbourne, Australia, started 23 games for Washington State last season and averaged 6.4 points and a team-high 6 rebounds.

In a best case scenario, at the end of the season, people without ties to Texas are asking how Sug was left off.
