Big 12 Championship Game Thread 2023

The game was great! Loved every minute. Hope Worthy can rebound from the ankle before the next game. Brooks on the field for the last play was pure class. This team is together. Oh, and I am gruntled we got that damn belt.
 
IMHO, Gundy made a number of weird 3rd down play calls. His thinking was probably 'do the opposite of what they think we'll do.' His off tackle runs, draws, or counters on 3rd and 9, etc. weren't working against our D-front. We stuffed them well on 3rd downs.

If Georgia had won, I doubt Texas gets in over FSU. Good thing Bama won.

Georgia is out. Period. Texas is in unless fl st destroys Louisville. If that happens there will be a discussion between Texas, Al. And fl st.

I suspect the committee wanted an sec team in no matter and this was the only way in after Georgia loss.
FSU would be beaten by all four, plus PSU and OSU, Oregon, Oklahoma and in a pretend game, Texas a n m.

They lose all credibility if they don't follow their own guidelines for picking the 4 teams. Nowhere in their mandate does it say that the SEC has an automatic bid.

Short takeaways from the game:

Me and brother first visit to Jerry World... WOW!

Damn, that win was FUN!!!

Pokes well rep but more Horn fans - very vocal!

Met several very friendly osu fans prior and during the game. Pretty humble and glad to be there. Several expressed they expected to get beat.

Several interesting conversations with Pokes fans re: ou. Several talked about how obnoxious, over the top hostile and extremely nasty most ou fans are toward osu. I asked and several said ou fans hate osu MORE than Texas!

Other than end of game, loudest crowd moment Sweat TD catch!!

Sweat and Murphy dominated!

D held pokes to 31 yards net rushing. #1 college rusher Ollie held to 34 yards!!!

Halftime? No bands. Don't give a rat's *** who he is, but entertainment SUCKED! Yes, I'm getting old....

Ewers best game as a Horn. 458 yards and 4 TD's!!!

Wow! Big plays all day and or TD's by J. Whitt, Keilian, Blue, Sanders. Mitchell, Worthy, Baxter.

UT co-ed cheerleaders were far hotter than pokes counterparts (this is what binoculars are for).

And I would add that Texas' coaching staff shined. Sark called his best game and it was not a fluke. He was detail-oriented in the Chaos. 3 QBs, and successful trick plays throughout the game. Sark really helped the brand yesterday.

On an unrelated note, how can aggie compete with us for recruits other than those that just want to be aggies? The gap widened alot this year.

Thank you. I meant to mention Sarks play calling! Best overall this season. OMG, pokes were guessing what play would come next.
