I fully expect a superhuman effort from Arkansas for at least half the game. As long as we keep our heads on, and if we play on third down like we did this past week, we'll be ok. I hope everyone's right that they're as bad as they looked against Rice, but I suspect they will be a lot more tuned in for this game.
 
This could be interesting, as Bumper Pool will enter the game in the 2nd half. I bet he'll be all fired up.
 
Hardly seems worth the trouble. And definitely not worth the penalty. Note, their coach said he's going to teach them to tackle lower. Hopefully that doesn't mean bad things for opposing players' knees.

The Pigs’ safeties are looking solid. And then, there’s Bumper Pool.
 
DC Odom likes to drop 8 into coverage a lot on 3rd down. Hudson Card will show his coverage reading skills on Saturday.

By the way, the backup LB that will replace Bumper Pool in the firat half is reportedly pretty lousy. Good time to establish the run early.
 
So anyone been checking hog chat boards about the game Sat.?

I for one could use and would enjoy some arky malaise, misery and general naval gazing.
 
I love playing Arkansas. People wearing hog hats and shouting Sooie all game long. Never went to a game in Arkansas, but I remember the fans in Austin back in the 80's were a good group of people. I can also remember the first time I ever seen them on TV and they were all shouting sooie. I asked my uncle why do they keep shouting sooie. He said thats how people from Arkansas are, this is why you must go to UT.
 
Has anyone gotten any mid-week reports from Texas practices? I heard that the injuries from Saturday are not expected to keep anyone out against Arky. I assume that means that Junior Angilau is good to go.

Anything else? It has been disturbingly quiet for my taste.

Went to one game there in 81. Drove from Austin. We left in the 3rd quarter knowing we're dropping from #1 to getting our *** kicked. I'll never go again. One of the most depressing days of my life.
 
81 was the first trip I made to Fayetteville. We were ranked number 1. The stadium looked like an oversized high school bleacher stadium. I made the mistake that day of telling my buddy that the stadium looked “rinky dink”.
One old woman behind me was on me the rest of the day. We played terrible and at every bad play, she was right in my ear with “rinky dink” whatever.
Pigs score and it was “That was a rinky dink td” ad naseum.
