Not disagreeing with you, and I’m not too concerned about rankings this early, but curious why it “makes more sense” for us to be below FSU, for example. Why would they deserve a higher spot? There you go. To me this makes more sense.
that is reasonable. But our victory was much better than Any of USC'S VICTORIESI dont think we should have leaped over USC or Ohio State, the win notwithstanding. Id have us at 6.
As usual SC has not played anyone.that is reasonable. But our victory was much better than Any of USC'S VICTORIES

It’s all subjective right now anyway. Fun for debate though.
well being ranked significantly higher at the beginning of a season is so, so subjective. There should be much shuffling of rankings in the first 3 games till it settles down a bit. So we should be ranked higher than USC or tosu due to our quality win. I will not be moved from that reasoning.Just my opinion of course, but to me even though USC and tOSU haven't played a game commensurate with Bama on the road, they were ranked significantly higher to begin with and haven't lost or even been tested yet, so I feel like on paper we shouldnt just leapfrog them. Im skeptical about FSU as well to be fair, but I just feel like we need to win more games and these teams need to lose or at least stumble a bit.
Do we care?
Why?

Not disagreeing with you on this. However tOSU plays Notre Dame in a couple of weeks. I can almost guarantee the winner of that game will be ranked ahead of us whether they deserve it or not.well being ranked significantly higher at the beginning of a season is so, so subjective. "Work?" What's that?working all week!
We can remedy some of this by a rule that doesn't allow a team to enter the poll until they complete a game with a Div. 1 or power 4 team.Just my opinion of course, but to me even though USC and tOSU haven't played a game commensurate with Bama on the road, they were ranked significantly higher to begin with and haven't lost or even been tested yet, so I feel like on paper we shouldnt just leapfrog them. Exactly. I am not saying we should count on Texas as number 1 but Georgia and Michigan in the top 90 "hardest schedules", give a a break. And look at Colorado and OU. Crazy but Colorado put their coach on National Tv with a sunglasses stunt and beat a 0-3 rival at home by 8. Jeez. Tennessee in the 100's and lost to an uninspiring Florida team. Ohio State at 69 and we have a top 10! Texas a$m at 117? Alabama still in the top 10 because they played Texas as it should be.Screen shot from @stanhin’s CFRC link above
I’m not sure how he calculates his schedule difficulty ranking, but it should make more sense as the year goes on and we learn more about the relative strengths of various teams.Slightly off topic, and I've always hated Billingsley's rankings, but he may finally be catching on CFRC Encyclopedia
aggy is #61... Seems rather overrated to me, too.Texas a$m at 117?

Without Hunter, who was both their best receiver and their best defensive back, CU will be hurting bad until he returns.Me thinks Deion U. will lose it's first game Sat. vs. the Ducks!
Oh Magic 8 Ball, is WM correct on his predictions?Me thinks Deion U. will lose it's first game Sat. vs. the Ducks!
I suspect 3-0 Auburn will beat aggy this Sat. in Collie Station...
My gosh who knows with the Pac but Oregon has talent. I think aggie has much better players than Auburn and on a neutral site it is a toss up.Me thinks Deion U. will lose it's first game Sat. vs. the Ducks!
