American Idol

I agree that Kris wins it now... he should get about 70% of Danny's voters, which should put him in for the victory.

Adam's version of "One" was HORRIBLE. As was his Johnny Cash. He keeps getting free passes from the judges for some reason.

Look for Kris to get the Danny voters. However this whole thing is probably rigged for Adam anyways.

I think it'll be really close. Both guys are very good singers.

Anyone complaining about Adam's arrangements is whining over something that today's producers dig. People who can put original spins on older stuff, whether you like it or not, shows that they actually grasp creativity and musicality. I personally didn't like his version of "One" either, but vocally and performance-wise, he was great.

I already explained why Kris could win. Marketable, could collaborate with others, and could do either pop or country.

If Adam loses, it'll be from the backlash over his arrangements and the ambiguity over his personal life (go read the blogs). If Kris loses, it's because he won't be as good as Adam next week. Should be a lot closer than last year's "upset," when the producers were clearly disappointed that their little plant Archuleta lost.

ambiguity???

I think Adam is amazing. He hits notes like no one else on this planet.

Kris is the most current and marketable. Gokey was my favorite at the beggining, but he lost momentum and Kris stole his spot.

Adam should win. He is the best singer. However Kris has a great chance as well. Should be interesting to see what happends tomorrow.

Also: The 2 idols get 3 songs to perform. 1 is the "winners single" which both will sing, then the idols get to pick a song they performed already and do it again, and then Simon Fuller(exec producer) picks a song for each of them.

Adam is polarizing -- you either love him or hate him. ONe comment that is just flat wrong, though, is the criticism that Cash would hate him or that he is doing something wrong by changing Cash's arrangements. Cash was always about embracing different types of music, and we all know the route he took late in his career doing covers of some songs, changing the arrangement and tone. I recall the tribute special they did for him a few years back (before his death). One of the songs he seemed to embrace very enthusiastically was Wyclef Jean's take on "Delia," which started straight and then changed into the standard Wyclef Jean freestyle.
So, while Cash may not have said "I'll redo Ring of Fire like Adam," I feel certain he would appreciate the effort at changing that song to suit another singer.

yea, but people like Wyclef have musical talent and change songs to still be good and new and fresh.

Adam just makes them into things that make you want to pull your ears off.

the version of One was not Adam's creation. it was pretty much in step with mary J. Blige's part on the the duet she did with U2 for that song.

I think Adam wins tonight in a close one. His version of "Mad World" is pretty friggin awesome, whether you like him or not as a person.

Kris looked a little overwhelmed on the Idol piece, which brings me to this thought...

That piece by Kara and her friends was ridiculous. The tune, the lyrics, the unnecessary soft part leading to the loud part. If it wasn't acknowledged that she wrote it, I could have sworn that a middle school choir class came up with it for a class project. Simon even hinted as much.

They need to ditch the "Fox paid this much for the final song" mentality and just let the finalists pick. Leave their own destruction up to them, not Kara DioGuardi. That song was horrible, and both contestants reflected that.

Not sure about who gets the win, but I'm pretty sure I'll probably never be interested in anything either of these two people do musically.

Adam is clearly the more talented vocalist, but much more suited to his background of musical theater than the recording biz. (he could probably do some great Queensryche or King Diamond covers, though

)

Kris is probably more commercially viable as a recording artist, but to me, he seems like a less-talented John Mayer or Jack Johnson, and we already have enough of those types popping up like McMansions all over the place.

Some seem to think that the culture war comes into play, in that fans of the ousted Christian hero Danny Gokey will vote for Kris Allen because of his faith/ties to the music program in his church, and because its a vote against the obviously flamboyant homosexual Adam Lambert. Pathetic if true, but interesting dynamic.

I'm disappointed. At least Adam won't have to have that awful song as his first single.

Kris is a less talented Jason Mraz. I hope they both do well, though.

Right before Kris Allen had to sing that awful song, Adam said something into his ear and you could real Kris Allen's lips calling him an ******* while laughing.

That winner's song Kara wrote is dreadfully awful.

You guys wern't down with all that mountain and hurricane business? You just don't know good music.

I'm glad Lambert lost. That God awful yelling was brutal. I used to think I was put off by his fruitiness but I think its just his style that is off-puting. In interviews he seems like a nice guy and his singing is decent until he starts yelling. When the screaming starts I react the same way I react when OU scores in the Cotton Bowl.

Gotta say -- Adam fit right in with KISS. Good performance. He also seemed at home with Queen, for a variety of reasons. I wonder what Brian May was telling after the song?

I laughed my *** off when Kara ripped off her dress. And Bikini Girl's new fake boobies were funny too. I enjoyed the Finale a lot

Bikini Girl wasn't real happy when Kara came out. Apparently, BG's sister told Kara she needed plastic surgery & called her a "50-year old hack" after the show. Bitter much?

I find it really hard to believe that BG didn't know that kara was going to sing with her, but I am just cynical, I guess.

Texas Ed- Hell yes I was excited to see KISS! But more than anything, I'm excited that they're working on their 1st new record in 11 years.
