Just watched my dvr of the 2/26 show (the guys).
Micheal Johns (Aussie guy): Seemed to be trying to play it safe a little bit. Solid performance, but capable of much bigger things, imho.
Jason Castro: (aggy) Starting to look more and more like a one-trick pony. Not as good this week as last, but still pretty good. He could be a guy who could make some money 'cause he's a little different.
Luke Menard: If you're gonna take on anything sung by Freddie Mercury, you'd better have your **** together. Luke didn't. Unlike Micheal's great rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, Luke's take on Killer Queen was hard to listen to.
Robbie Carrico: Hot Blooded. Meh. It was kinda weak, & I still don't buy this guy as even a shadow of a rocker. Fake, fake, fake.
Yeah, that's Robbie on the left.
Danny Noriega: Sang the Carpenters' hit "Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby?" It was weak...and what is up with that...dude?
David Hernandez: Papa was a rolling stone. Very good, aside from getting a little sharp a coupla times. Nice job with the singing as well as the stage presence.
Jason Yeager: Ned Flanders, Pat Boone, and Nick Lachey blenderized. Not a bad job, but he just doesn't look comfortable up there, prolly 'cause he knows he's not really a star.
Chykezie: "I believe". Very nice. One of the top two performances of the night. Very easy and smooth, with charisma and power. Watch out for this guy. He could surprise.
David Cook: Dave, it gets exponentially more difficult to act cool and hip each successive time you forget the words, eh? Dude forgot the words in 2 or 3 different parts of "All Right Now". How the judges all gave him a pass on that I'll never know. I think Simon woulda hammered him on it, but may just have not been familiar with the song. It was ok, but after the lyrical mishaps, I was amazed that he still stood up there and got a little uppity, then talked about how last week was a wakeup call, so he knew he had to nail it tonight, blah, blah.
David Archuletta: "Imagine". Best of the night, but not as incredible as some are making it out, imho. Kid's extremely gifted, but let's not overstate it. He'll be on the short list...
