All of the Titans bandwagoning is ridiculous

I will bet you that Vince never, ever ends up with negative yards passing in a game for his entire career.

That was the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Yeah they won the game........uh.......against the only team in the league that they are better than.

The whole scenerio with the Texans would be funny if it wasn't so sad...... OK. Its kinda funny. Here they are, however many years they've been in the league, and I still don't think anyone outside of Houston knows there is a professional football team there. They have terrible management, a mediocre coach, and a lifeless football team that looks like it couldn't give two fucks if they win or lose. They are a joke, a farce, and an embarassment to Texas.

The arguments the Titans haters are using truly are some of the funniest things I have read this week. Vince is the flavor of the month? Oh man.

I grew up in Austin as a diehard Texas fan and a cursory Cowboys, Astros & Spurs fan. When the Oilers drafted Earl Campbell, I became an enthusiastic Oilers fan… until Bud Adams fired Bum Phillips.

Then the Cowboys disillusioned what little faith I had left in the NFL when Jerry Jones bought the team and fired Tom Landry.

When I heard Houston was getting a new NFL franchise I was interested… until they named them the Texans. How boring. I think the Houston Humidity would’ve been a much better name. Or maybe the Houston Mosquitos. Mosquito fans could hum obnoxiously while the opposing team’s offense is on the field. That would have been cool. But no. They had to steal the name of the Kansas City Chief’s Dallas incarnation. Booooring.

When I heard San Antonio might steal the Saints, I got real excited and dreamed of becoming a San Antonio Santos fan. But that didn’t work out either.

So I had resigned myself to being scarcely anything more than a Texas Longhorn fan. The NFL, I had finally decided, was nothing more than bland entertainment to get my Sunday afternoon naps started.

Then came Vince Young. He’s special.

After 35 years of frustration he said “here ya go” and effortlessly handed Texas an MNC.

Then VY decided he wanted to go pro. I figure that I, as a Texas fan, can’t begrudge Vince Young anything he wants. After all, he delivered an MNC. If he wants to go pro, fine. God bless him.

But you know what? Just because Vince Young went pro does not mean that I can no longer root for this messiah in cleats.

Heck no. I’d root for Vince Young if he played for the Oklahoma Osamas.

So what happens? Old evil nemesis Bud Adams drafts Vince Young. What’s an old angry Earlers fan to do?

Well, I’ll tell you what I did. I let bygones be bygones. After all, I figure any man who was smart enough to draft both Earl Campbell and Vince Young can be excused for firing Bum Phillips and for screwing over the city of Houston.

After all, Bum wore a silly hat and when you get right down to it the city of Houston actually sucks. I don’t mean that as an insult, merely as a factual statement.

So I have no problem being a Tennessee Titans fan. Nope. None whatsoever.

Luv ya Blue! And VY too.

Houston Texans are dead to me.

i look forward to VY stiff-arming Mario this weekend.

The original poster did not just say that he would root for the Texans over the Titans. He hoped the Titans lost EVERY SINGLE game they played. Then said he hoped VY did well. How can Vince do well if Tenn. is always awful? QB is the most important position on the field. Where VY goes, so go the Titans. Therefore, GO TITANS.
After what Vince did for my FAVORITE team the Longhorns, I at least owe him my support.
Also, "evil Roy" is not that bad a person. He won me over after I saw the piece on channel 8 after a Boys game. What he does for the community and his church blew me away. If only that clip could find its way onto Youtube. I swear I saw watery eyes by at least half the men in the room.

Augie:

No **** dude. Its like they're saying "Oh Tennessee has this really good QB named Vince Young. He seems good. Go Titans!" I don't know about the rest of you, but Vince Young represents alot more than just another Longhorn in the NFL who we hope does well. He represents a national championship and the kind of leader we can be proud of representing our university in the NFL. He's not just another guy we root for. He IS the guy we root for. Period.

Hey Augie,

I love VY for what he did at Texas, but you guys are doing the same thing you criticized Reggie Bush lovers for doing. Clearing out a spot in Canton for the guy before he's really done anything of note in the NFL.

And I'd still like to see one true Cowboys fan who pulled for the Titans to beat the Cowboys. Just one.

Fondren:

I pulled for the Cowboys to beat the Titans. Sure did. I've been a diehard Cowboys fan since birth and absolutely wanted them to beat the Titans. There ya go. Now what exactly does your question mean if anything? It still doesn't support your argument. Its more circular aggy logic.

What the original poster fails to understand is that the Longhorn faithful will always have Vince's back no matter what team he plays for!! His contribution of a national championship has won the loyalty of all of us come hell or high water. I know I would never root against him, especially when playing an arrogant yet feeble organization like the texans

There's no aggy logic to it. Why should Houston fans pull for the Titans over their team, when you didn't do it? Especially considering the Titans history. The Texans and Titans were put in the same division to create a rivalry between the two and build on Houstonians hate for Adams. So yeah, as a Houston fan I want to beat the Titans and I want to beat them more than any other team. Just like as a Longhorn fan, the aggie loss is much worse than the ksu loss.

Would you be pulling so hard for Vince if he played for the Redskins, especially against the cowboys? Definitely not, since you were pulling against Vince even when he wasnt' on your rival.

I have to LOL at some of the predictions the Titans bandwagoners have made on this board recently. I have seen predictions of multiple Super Bowl wins from some. And this for a 5-7 club. Pretty hilarious.

Newsflash: Late comebacks and 60 yard FGs do not a Super Bowl contender make. Now the Titans may develop into a damn good team but that isn't chiseled in stone anywhere just yet. Nor is it written somewhere that the Texans won't steadily improve in the coming years.

I'll post it again in case any Titans bandwagoners missed it the first time.
The Texans will win Sunday.

Now to address some accusations leveled at me on this thread.
I am 99% a Longhorn fan, I squeeze all the rest of the teams I pull for (Texans, Cowboys, Rockets etc.) into the remaining 1%. I follow recruiting year round and take an intense interest in Spring football. No one is going to out Longhorn fan me.

But the Titans blow and the Houston Texans represent Houston for better or worse. And by extension (along with the Cowboys) represent the state of Texas.

Consider that the Houston franchise is called the "Texans", that the logo is designed to remind people of the UT logo and that the uniform colors make the Texan players into walking versions of the Texas state flag and you get what the Texans look like to the rest of the country.

Why the hell should any of us pull for the state of Tennessee.

I can just imagine you all if VY became a coach at A&M. I expect you all would have to learn to whoop and mash your nuts like imbeciles.

Growing up There were 2 teams in Texas the Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. Those were the only teams I watched or followed. When I was 12 my dad took me to see the Horns play aggy in College Station. Why because I grew up in Bryan, Texas It was my first College Football game. This just happened to be the last time Earl Campbell would play the Aggies. Campbell just blew up that day. Of course as Texas fans you already knew that.

That spring some NFL team from Houston dratfed Earl Campbell. At the time I didn't realize there was an NFL team in Houston. But I was sold, I am now an Oiler fan. Campbell was the ****, the best football player I had ever seen. I never missed a game. When Campbell left Houston, I kept up with Houston but I was no longer a true fan.

The Cowboys however have always been my favorite NFL team. I guess I never was a true Oiler fan but a true Earl Campbell fan. As I got older the Oilers moved to Tenn. and that didn't bother me too much because I wasn't a true fan. Then this kid from Houston signed to play with Texas after a couple of years of watching this kid I realized that maybe just maybe I found a football player on the same level as Campbell
In his RS soph year this kid blew up against Mich. in the Rose Bowl. This kid is VY ( again you already knew that.) I knew then that VY was on the same level as Campbell, Then as a junior VY took the Horns back to the Rose Bowl for a MNC. The rest is history.

Today I'm still a huge Cowboy fan but I watch VY every time I get a chance. I always watch the replay shows to see what kind of day VY had. VY is the **** now and it wouldn't have mattered if the Eagles or Redskins had drafted VY I would still be a VY fan.

The Texans had a chance to take VY and passed that is their perogative. However by passing on VY the Texans passed on me as a fan. I would bet my annual salary that there are a lot of people in the state of Texas that have the feelings I have. Houston **** in their own nest not taking VY it will hurt them for a long time to come. This was their first and possibly only chance to at least double their fanbase with 1 signature on a contract. Those opportunities do not come along for many pro sports teams. I believe it will go down in history as one of if not the worst draft day mistakes in pro sports history. The Texans may never recover from this blunder only time will tell.

LonghornMan

Making statements like "the Texans will win Sunday" doesn't do a whole lot for your credibility. Remember they've already lost to the Titans earlier in the year and Vince has improved by leaps and bounds since then. But, if it helps you sleep at night, keep rationalizing. We all do it sometimes.

Fondren-
Mario "SEVENTH leading tackler and damaged draft goods" Williams IS Sam "injury prone" Bowie, and even the blindest bat can see that DeMeco Ryans is the "star" of that defense. The only way that I will ever root for the idiotic Houston Texans and their dopey owner again would be if they traded for Vince - and Bud Adams isn't THAT dumb...by the way, next time you post don't degrade Akeem that way either

MTF:

You hit the nail right on the head. The Cowboys were not a team that had the No. 1 pick in the draft, had a clear need for a difference maker at QB with a chance to draft the hometown kid and change the face of the organization. The two arguments are insane. So I've said it a few times on this thread, but it needs saying again.

**** THE TEXANS
