Alamo Bowl Game Thread: UT v UW

Disappointing loss. Winnable game. But…..

8-5 is better than 5-7 and no bowl game

aggy is still aggy - 5-7 and no bowl game

blowU lost - 6-7

it could be worse, I s’pose. And it’s a game with no real impact in life.

Worthy needs to eat that humble pie and learn to catch the ball. Ewers is a freshman, I guess, but he needs some practice and our defensive front needs major work. I hope that this team can grow from this season. It met minimal expectations of what I expected from this season. The bar at Texas should not be doing the minimum. As far as I am concerned, nobody, especially Sarkisian, has anything to crow about. They need to work like hell this off season. Next year needs to be a 10 win plus season to continue the momentum. Too many missed opportunities. Who is going to step up and make the plays?
 
I’m proud of Ewers tonight. 369 yards and no TOs ( I know the last play got him a chunk but Worthy cost him at least that much). Not bad for a frosh.

I’m proud of me tonight. Ate an entire pizza all by myself and drank a bunch of beer. No turnovers. Didn’t shoot my TV like Elvis. That’s disciplined living there.
 
it is what it is, I would rather win but the loss may make them work harder, make them hungrier, we all knew this year wasn't the year and next year probably isn't it either. Have to keep improving, i do expect more then 8 wins next year though.

Possible but we had 6 freshman playing on most of the drives in the 2nd half on offense.

Winners make plays when the game is on the line. Texas had chances to and didn’t in all five losses and were lucky The Cyclone receiver went all Worthy at the end of that game. You are what your record says you are and Texas was just above mediocre. Maybe the additional influx of talent and some experience gained will make a difference next year, but I’m going in with expectations of about the same. Sark’s is what his career record as a head coach says he is and that is about an 8-4 coach on a yearly basis. If the rumors are true that CDC wanted Dykes, the big money arrogance continues to doom the program.
 
I'm not so proud of my team or me tonight. I don't like losses, especially meaningless ones. And I don't like myself for my attempt to turn this joint into SurlyHorns. Thankfully I failed. But I do seem to get kinda pissy during this kind of games. I'll work on that in 2023.
 
The fellas at the Longhorn network are really trying to sell hard that all is really well at Texas. I guess it’s “be positive” over there or you are gone.Reminds me of the Iraqi minister of defense.

True but Brooks and DJ Campbell didn’t get a lot of playing time. Also, losing Rojo and Bijan and Karic really hurt the offense in terms of continuity and consistency.

Poor play tonight, poor season. What’s rhe highlight of the season - the KSU win? I suppose it’s the OU blowout but they wree terrible this year.

10 wins needs to be the success / fail line for next year.

It’s not bad, it’s just not very good either. Texas was 6-5 against non-hired teams.

If you can make it to bed without soiling yourself after that, consider it an accomplishment. But not till then. Run past the goal line.
 
Brooks is the real deal. He got 6 carries. “Six.”

Worthy is a conundrum. I don’t know if it’s a matter of his inability to visually track the ball, to position his body correctly when the ball is in the air, or what. It’s very unusual. But there is a problem that became quite obvious this evening. And looking back over the season, I have to believe that Sark realizes that there is an issue as well. I don’t know if he will portal or not. And if he does, I feel differently about it after this game that I would have otherwise. No doubt that his stock did not rise tonight.
