Ags Piggies make it official

let's start kicking around some names for this annual battle for mediocrity:

"Pigs and the men who love them"
"The first annual We're NOT Texas shootout"
"Hogs and Dogs"

If that's accurate, I guess we can this one into the hat too:

"Not even the most important rivalry game taking place at a neutral site in the DFW area"

this thread has some serious potential...

in actual fact though, i live in Arlington...and ill probably end up trying to go to this game simply to see the stadium. It will be a whole hell of a lot cheaper than trying to go to a Cowboys game...of course the Titans are scheduled to play in Dallas in '09 so may just do that instead...

so why did arky postpone the game if they are going to keep on playing aggy for the next decade? seems they are only postponing the problem of having to play both us and them in the same year...

Does anyone else find it funny that the Piggies pulled out of the 2009 game against us in order to lower the difficulty of their non-conference schedule, and brought in aggy in our place?

If Arkansas were scared, they would bail out on the game in Austin, not just the home game in Fayetteville. Bare in mind that Arkansas has won 3 of the last 4 (91,00,03) with 4 straight being a Matt Jones end zone fumble away. I would hardly consider it a matter of "fear".What is scary is facing Mark Richt, Steve Spurrier, Urban Meyer, Tommy Tuberville, Nick Saban, and Les Miles all in the same year before OOC games are tallied up. Like it or not, NO ONE would submit themselves to that schedule plus Texas and Aggie. You can also throw Houston Nutt and Sylvester Croom into the mix.

So, someone had to go. Is it going to be a 5 Million Dollar pay day at Jerry World or a home game against Texas? I think the wise choice was made.

Now, if you can find one instance in your proud history were you played two MAJOR
OOC games plus the likes of Bama, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia all in the same year I would love to see it. Hell, that is even ignoring Ole Miss and Miss. St..

This thread seems more like an attempt to convince yourselves that you are important than a logical look at the X's and O's of scheduling.

I see two pages of those who care.

I'm just giving you the why.

If you can find a schedule in the history of your program, or any program, that would match the murderers row that Arkansas had in 2009, you will have to put in some serious work.

It's not a matter of being scared. It all boils down to being reasonable.

Georgia-Away
Florida-Away
LSU-Away
Alabama-Away
South Carolina
Auburn
Texas
Texas A&M
plus
Ole Miss
Miss. St.
and two more OOC games is not reasonable and you can't point to a team that would take that on.

Why were you dropped and Aggie kept? Because you are not worth 50 Million over 10 years.
