Ags commit another no star!

My personal opinions:

These kids for two straight recruiting class's now, just keep on proving why Byrne's hire Sherman is ranked dead last or near the botton of each and every coach's poll.

They all seem to figure it out, fast.

Glancing at the latest Texas 100 list, I had to go down about 30 names before finding A&M in the committed column for even the first time? We should not be missing out on Texas top 30 players?

But we've loaded up in this early July, on lower ranked players, most not even on this top 100 list?

At least with all the lower ranked non-bcs commits this year, the good schools won't be trying as hard to get them to decommit.

But on the other hand, I noticed that UH just committed a jc ol last week that A&M had offered.

Last year with A&M committing 14 top four and five star players, the good schools decommitted 15 players total, and Sherman ended up signing only 7 four and five stars.

Cody Green is just another example of Sherman not being
able to relate, to 4 and 5 star recruits and their parents in the living room, not even to the TU, lsu and ou leftovers.

Now the other Big 12 schools are getting the good leftovers.

When the Ag Athletic Department spin machine suddenly started putting out, multiple times on the Ag blogs, a couple of days ago, " that we really don't need a quarterback this year," you just knew Sherman had blown another one.

Wonder if the football challenged 80+% will ever figure it out.

Sherman beat out head to head by that reputed tremendous recruiter, Bo Pellini?

My personal opinions:

Yes, Fran had A&M up to thirteen 4 and 5 star players committed in a single season, and nine wins in a single season, the last couple of years.

I'm happy to hear that the current staff is doing as well, and building on Fran's success?

Thats twice as many 4 and 5 star players as RC averaged the first part of this decade, and a significant improvement in wins over what RC averaged as well.

Just building upward from RC's low of the 03 squad.

Of course Fran still had the significant handicap of RC's non-bcs recruiting class's of almost dropping to zero NFL draft choices for the years of 03, 04, 05, 06, and 07.

The last recruiting class of RC's mostly sduds finished their elgibility just this last season.

But each year as another of RC's terrible recruiting classes finished, and Fran replaced them with his better class, things improved to the last two years decade high level.

With Fran bringing in a top 5 recruiting class this year especially with all the 4 and 5 star defensive studs replacing RC's last terrible recruiting class, it would have been nice to see the upward spiral continue!

I always get a kick out of some of the comments on play calling and coaching by posters and former players that are 80+% really football challenged.

You just have to realize that even at the high school, college, and pro level, most players only are familar with and coached in only one or two positions.

They just try hard to execute and do what they're told at those one or two positions, nothing else on the other positions.

They aren't even allowed normally in the quarterback meetings with coaches to learn details on play calling, game plans, coaching tactics, etc., so most dont know crap about this end of the game or even less about the other positions.

These quarterback/coach meetings have to be very frank about the shortcommings of players on their own team when discussing play calling and team game plans.

But some of their contradicting football challenged comments can still be hilarious!

My personal opinions:

With Green committing to Nebraska, this sign was just spotted outside the Ag athletic department:

HELP WANTED!

Immediate recruiting class openings exist for the following:

Mascot

Quarterback

Running Back

No experience necessary, any and all dogs welcome!

"exhist"? Really? I mean that extra letter (I'll let you figure out which one) should not have had a finger anywhere near it.

Takes away from the sarcastic nature of the post.

I doubt A&M wins the South Big 12, but we cannot rag on a team that has beaten us two in a row. Every player and coach on our team should be very embarressed over those two losses (to A&M). Hopefully we are motivated come Thanksgiving.

My personal opinions;

Pretty much same old, same old!

In the past few days, Sherman committed another 3 star from Waco, a de.

And Sherman lost a head to head to Arkansas for a good cb from Tulsa.

And Sherman lost a head to head to ou for a good cb from Marshall.

And Sherman lost a head to head to lsu for a good five star player, a dt.

With his college/nfl coaching experience, Sherman is ranked dead last or in the bottom part in most coaching polls.

A&M's team, with Sherman's nfl/college coaching experience, is now recognized nationally as ranked 5th in the Big 12 south and 9th in the Big 12.

If Sherman just keeps his coaching hands off this team on game day's this fall, A&M still has the talent to win the Big 12 this year.

But Mack, Les and Bobby really need to speed up their on-the-job recruiting training of Mike in the next five years, if he lasts that long? Definitely, no visable improvement so far in recruiting, maybe even a step or two backwards?

Like I said, just same old, same old!

My personal opinions:

A&M now has the worst recruiting class of the decade with only 3 four star commits in a class of 25.

Of course, RC is a close second for the worst class of the decade when he had a class with 4 players ranked at 2 star or lower. Our current class just has 3 players ranked at two star or lower, so far!

This was back in the early part of the decade when RC was really recruiting bad, and committed 7 four and five star players while letting Brown commit 21.

Or the next year of RC's bad recruiting, when A&M committed 6 four and five star players while letting Stoops signed 18.

It just seems that Sherman has completely given up after the last years 15 decommit recruiting debacle of high level recruits, and now this years low level 25 commit class with a decade low of 3 four star players.

With so many four and five star players still out there uncommitted. why else would you fill up with 25 low level commits, if you hadn't just given up?

Of the recent rash of Louisiana commits, I really like Stewart. He'll be a 4-star at the next go round. Offers from Tennessee, Bama, and Michigan amongst others.

Lewis has awesome looking film, but his list of offers sucks. The Rivals guy has scouted him fairly extensively and he'll remain a 4-star.

Not sure what to make of the marothe(?) kid.

Big TAMU news is that Christine Michael may re-commit once again to the Ags. He'll be a candidate for a bump to 5-star land in the next go round. Wouldn't surprise me to see him move up to a 5-star, and Gilbert move down to a 4-star.

TAMU is down to the following targets: Michael, Loston, Mossakowski. landing Michael puts this class at a B or so. Getting Michael and one of the other 2 puts it in the B+/A- category.

Bundy -- I heard a rumor that Michael will probably commit this Friday. Have you heard this?

Regarding Moss -- I know he has a top 4 right now, which includes Bama, Kentucky, Auburn, and A&M. Isn't Auburn currently in the lead?

My personal opinions:

Can someone offer more detail on the 3 La kids offers; something just seems weird? Low rankings, 40 speed, offer lists, etc.?

First, Lewis is ranked 3 star by scout, has offer list of only conn., la tech, tulsa, and a Big 12 9th ranked A&M?

Second, LaMothe is ranked only a 2 star, has nothing near the 4.5 speed you want in today's linebackers, and his offer list is bad?

Third, Stewart has Alabama on his offer list (conditional ?), tech, miss state and takes a Big 12 9th ranked A&M's offer?

None of them got a sniff from lsu, ou or UT?

???

My personal opinions:

Bundy, to summarize your post, it says that A&M has the most incompetant AD, Head Football Coach, and Head Basketball Coach; and they all should be immediately replaced this year with competant, intelligent personnel.

Green Bay, after they fired Sherman said his weakest most incompetant area of coaching was in the selection of players, and this has certainly proven to be true in the last two years of Sherman's recruiting?

And I am in 100% agreement with you, blueag, and other Ag spin machine members, that this is absolutely the worst Ag recruiting class this decade with no five star and only 3 four star players out of 25 commits.

Even though there are tons of uncommitted four and five starplayers still out there, Sherman just gave up and signed anything in sight to get recruiing over with?

My personal opinions:

Recruiting Expections-

a. Charlie Weis signed 2 five star and 10 four star players his first year out of the nfl.

b. Nick Saban signed 3 five star and 19 four star players his first year out of the nfl.

c. Mike Sherman committed no five star and only 3 four star players out of 25 his first year out of the nfl.

d. Mark Turgeon committed no five star and only 1 four star player this year.

I was expecting $Bill to hire someone between a Nick Saban and a Charlie Weis.

Instead Byrne hired a Head Coach somewhere between a ZERO and a fired RC in both football and basketball.

miller58

A&M will go right to the bottom of the Big 12 in both sports with last years and this years reruiting class signed by these two head coaches.

And with that loss of Wade, any dreams they had of getting Michael and Loston just went Bye Bye. No one would want to run behind that no-OL looking junk machine.

Maybe I am the only one who thinks this but itsn't 1 four star from Texas out of that many recruits really pathetic? Maybe miller is on to something. I hear some ags at work and such that are actually thinking they are doing well in recruiting.

The ags will tell you that Sherman is getting his guys, its about finding guys that fit his system...who needs 4-star and 5-star guys when you have a system that 3-stars can dominate in?

Look what Stoops did with OU when he arrived, look what Leach does with 3-stars in Lubbock, look what a good coach like Meyer can do in Utah...its not about rankings, it's about the system. Man, where have you guys been?[/texags]

My personal opinions:

And what's funny is the two biggest reasons I've heard from people close to the Greenbay situation say, that Sherman's inability to evaluate player personnel and inability to instill discipline were the main reasons he was fired?

If he's already proven he can't recruit ( there is no college annual draft), if he can't evaluate players, and if he can't instill discipline, then what the hell did Byrne give Coach Fran a proported " Raw Deal " for, lose two classes of recruits in the process, and hire a coach that takes the program backward 3 steps?

I wonder, would it possibly be that a winning coach is not as important as A&M internal power struggle politics?

A news source inferred to me that the people in power now at A&M are very controlling and intimidating?

I know everything I post is 100% true, and often almost in direct contrast to what the Ag spin machine is putting out.

The Ag spin machine then attacks the message, then me personally, then tries to muddle and change the subject ( hijack the thread).

Things have not been right at A&M for almost 15 years and the message is always give them time, 5 more years (until retirement? ).

Top programs like Michigan cleaned house for one years screwups last year.

Dare A&M for once, emulate a top program, and clean house from top to botton for those current and former non-Ag A&M employees that are really proven bad for A&M's program, immediately after t+1.

Those Ags showing distain for A&M's program the past 5 years, should be shown the same distain by other Ags.

Yes, losing Wade to Baylor was a big blow; and no, I did not realize A&M was so bad as to have only one commit out of Texas top 50.

Maybe Sherman is still waiting for the annual college draft?
