Everyone is correct - it is the schools that are wrong:

aggy of the west has an excuse - they are aggy after all; CU is supposed to be better than that.

We need to get back to easy-picking, low-hanging aggy bashing fruit here soon, but...one more thing on mascots...
I just dont get the anti-indian-as-a-mascot/theme thing.
I have quite a bit of Indian in my bloodline and always thought it a tribute the the people and the culture to be "immortalized " with such acknowledgement. HELLO! Mascots are obviously chosen to be lifted up/exhalted/celebrated. By it's very nature, the act of letting something be the "banner" for your team/school/whatever is inherently complimentary.

My ancestry is 2/3 Scandinavian and I have no issue with schools having Vikings as Mascots. (Although the horns on the helmets are historically inaccurate. But I’ll let that ride.)
 
I’d say the Vikings (overall) didn’t face the same historical challenges as the various Native American tribes.

That being said, your picture of the Illinois warrior looks historically accurate and seems to honor their tradition with a mascot. It seems like FSU has come to a good arrangement with the Seminole Nation, though I wouldn’t blame the Nation for having second thoughts for signing that treaty now based on the conduct of recent FSU stars.

Thanks for bringing us back on subject: the subject of aggy futility and the comedic gift that keeps on giving. They will always have that. Maybe we can make a plaque recognizing this and they can place it in their "trophy case".

No conversation about ‘menacing’ mascots can be complete without mentioning the Corpse of cadet clown. The skinhead that waved his sword at the SMU cheerleader for dissin’ Revile. Does anybody have that pic?
 
I had to laugh this morning while listening to VSIN and the discussion about the Arizona State game against Hawaii...they mentioned how Sumlin was one of the best coaches against the spread in August, September and October.

Coincides perfectly with the aggy roller-coaster..
