aggy meltdown

I've always wondered about an Ag Tag, it's like a badge of honor you have to earn.

There was one post about a Marine who wanted to go to aggieland one day and they started a whole petition to give the guy an honorary ag tag. Is it like on of those "#ag tags" that you would pull on the back of shirts in elementary school?

Horns11 - I might be remember this wrong, but I thought it after the 1999 classes and was this:

ATM - none
Advantage - ATM. Texas needed one and ATM didn't.

Either way, I agree that the KK post was greatness. TPE had patiently rung up nearly 1000 posts to give the post credibility from that standpoint.

Now now guys I think we really do need to believe Honkey Tonk Man in Converse's thread simply because he said, "believe me when I say". That alone gives everything he says complete credibility. We should all be worried that these great 2 star recruits the aggies will get are going to be true gems and beat Texas.
 
I thought that "Mark it down" was the official Aggy lingo for "you must believe what I've said, no matter how illogical, unfounded, and nonsensical it may seem."
 
There are way too many options for winning surrounding aggy (Us, okie, LSU, a resurgent Baylor, etc.). Other than an aggy legacy, raised by an aggy family, who would opt to spend four years in that burg? Admission is the first step to cure, and as is obvious by a visit to any ag website, those folks are nowhere near admitting they're a cult. The take on the typical aggy post needs to go to the classics, by the way.

No offense intended but what is more delusional? Hoping you have a legit chance with a great recruit or thinking one of your rivals is going to start losing recruits to UTSA?

The Aggies might be down, but they're not out. I seem to remember us getting our asses handed to us twice recently by a team that had no where near the talent we had.

converse is definitely spot-on, but one thing I noticed the last few times I've been to texgags is how many of the (apparently) longtime posters ridicule him, along with Brandi. their shtick is tiresome / embarassing to many over there, but both do have their little disciples who mimic them.

as best I recall, to get an ag tag by your username a person has to send proof of graduating from agriculturenmechanics or send in a pic showing him licking Revile's dog crack.
 
Lotus, nice try Aggy. The UTSA comment was in jest although it obviously stuck a cord. Texas doesn't care if A&M doesn't fall that far, as long as they're competing with Baylor and Tech for recruits A&M will be right where the Longhorns want them.

Aggy recruiting is so pathetic right now, they are in for some 3-4 win seasons in the next two to three years. If they started lights out recruiting now, which ain't happening, it wouild take them years to recover. Most of those myopic clowns have yet to realize this though.
 
Hey, don't count aggy out yet. They landed a big haul today including some chick named Dominique. Rivals doesn't list any of these three cats with any star ranking. I don't subscribe so Is that normal or are these guys just really that average?

Remember back when Mack first came to Texas and it was known that he would tell recruits that they should stay in Texas. If they didn't come to the 40 acres then they should play somewhere in the state? He was basically throwing aggy a bone and felt that having them remain our main rival would be beneficial to our program.

Then the 1999 Bonfire game happened and Mack has never said anything like that again. After the respect we showed them and then the disrespect they returned, I am pretty sure Mack realized they were a second tier school with an over hyped attitude and we were about to dominate them for years. Thus 6 straight wins and a 8-3 record overall against them. He went from respecting them, to laughing at them.

I don't see anything changing in the foreseeable future.
 
With so many options out there for a recruit to go to a program with a chance to win some games, I seriously doubt even Fed-Ex could deliver enough money to persuade any rational teenager to live four years in Bagdad on the Brazos, join the cult, and lose a lot.
 
They have now shifted into ignoring what is really happening,
and starting to welcome ("Come on down to aggieland, Mr.
second-tier recruit") and acting as if real progress has been
made. Then, the sycophants chime in with "this guy is really
a five-star, but overlooked..".. however Sherman has identified.
this guy and Mack completely missed. It is hilarious to watch.

Watched the guy play here when Temple played Consol...wasn't that impressed. Don't get me wrong the kids got raw talent but he still has a ways to go to be great. Think we'll be fine without him.

That is sad to see we are not in his top 8...kid is a bit overrated IMO. Very interesting that Okie State is his #2 though. I'm sure the Dez Bryant comparisons are through the roof in Stillwater. Probably a grade risk like Bryant, probably best we missed on him.



If sherm brings him in for a visit, I would not bet against us to reel him in. Once he sees our facilities, top notch coaches, and loudest fans... we always have a good chance.




About the UT's 2010 class:


UT's class is overrated. they always start out like this then their guys start to fall off. all this early recruiting will come bite them in the butt for not thoroughly evaluating players like coach SHERMAN!

Need I remind you that we lost to them twice in the last 3 years with the bad recruiting they've done?

Yes, A&M is down, but why sink to their level or even gloat about their meltdown? It's best to show respect, and grin while you think of their ineptitude at recruiting. It's disrespectful and Aggie like behavior to loudly make fun of them and misspell their name.
 
Wow, my "t u" got turned into a UT. That's cool. They should do the same thing with "aggy," and make it "aggie."

Having our fans act just as stupid as the vast majority of Aggies is classless.

Lotus - I'd be much more open to your point of view if I'd never had aggy (yeah, that's not a mistype there...) fans take such joy in the travails of "Cart McCry"...

After that fiasco, I really don't have that much mercy on their fanbase. If they're hurting, it's just fine with me...
 
To add on to Section Three and Longhorn Cougar, two other gems on most texags recruiting threads: "The titde is turning" and "Sherman has the recruiting momentum in the state". Most ags have them at 7-5 MINIMUM next year.
