Allsome, indeed. I was afraid that Oregon would be right on our tail after last night.
Not even close. 56-6 first place votes. Allsome.

I'm all for that. Just have to play them one at a time - the most important game on the schedule is the next one. In this case, total focus on Vanderbilt.Win them all and see what happens.
Texas should sue the SEC for fraud. If you beat an SEC team, no way you drop in polls.
Bama barely beat Auburn last year on a miracle last play and still made the CFP. Yes, different standards. No one should be surprised that the standard changes for Texas once they join this joke of a conference. Decade plus ugly road wins against ranked teams have been lauded as big wins in the juggernaut SEC!
No one should be surprised.
Twice this season Texas has dropped after winning a conference game. Has that ever happened to an SEC! team?I did not look at the rankings until after I read this thread.
Based on what I read, I thought we dropped out of the Top 10. We dropped one spot behind undefeated Miami...I am shocked I tell you.
I agree we are getting treated differently than other SEC teams but like I was stating last night in the game thread...this poll is irrelevant. The real poll we should care about is the CFP poll where a rank of 5 - 8 is where we want to be if we don't win the conference.Twice this season Texas has dropped after winning a conference game. Yes, and like I said, I would think the Committee weighs the AP and Coaches polls heavily since most of them seem to know zero about football otherwise.I agree we are getting treated differently than other SEC teams but like I was stating last night in the game thread...this poll is irrelevant. I guess I don't get your point then. Unless you think we are going to win the conference, we are exactly where we want to be if the CFP poll will reflect the AP poll.Yes, and like I said, I would think the Committee weighs the AP and Coaches polls heavily since most of them seem to know zero about football otherwise.
It's a fan board. I don't have to make sense, just like the polls.I guess I don't get your point then. Unless you think we are going to win the conference, we are exactly where we want to be if the CFP poll will reflect the AP poll.
And, to be fair, that is the kind of win where we should have dropped. Again, what I am pointing out is that Texas seems to be the only SEC! team I can think of that has dropped not once, but twice, after "ugly" wins.Again, I’m grateful that we didn’t fall any further than we did. But this time it kind of sucks, seeing as how we won. An exceptionally ugly win, but a win nonetheless.
From what I understood, there are five automatic entries. Spots 1-4 are given to the four highest ranked conference champions and the next or 5th highest ranked conference champion will be ranked somewhere between 5-12. The rest are at large entries. How many teams get automatic bids to 12 team playoff? Five? Six? If we drop any of the next 4 games, we’re in trouble of getting in. Conference champs and 1 loss teams will eat away the open slots. Anybody think a 2 loss Texas team gets in over a 2 loss Bama? This is why I hate playing two unimpressive games in a row. Teams are trending up (aggy) while we’re not passing the eye test.
Did we and Bama make them impressive or did they just play well? One game I can buy but two games against top competition is hard not to error on the side as Vandy might be pretty good this year.Uh, I’d say we made Vandy impressive, and so did Bama. But Vandy struggled the week before us and Bama crushed their opponent this week. Just like you said it’s eye test time and we do not look pretty.
Again, what I am pointing out is that Texas seems to be the only SEC! team I can think of that has dropped not once, but twice, after "ugly" wins.
Last time we played Bye, we rose in the rankings. Why you hate Bye? Are you a Bye hater?Won't be surprised if they drop us again during our bye.
