4-horn QB Buechele commits. [Earlier: Lots of smoke bout a QB commit...]

It seems disappointing only because Buechelle had been #1 for every day of the competition up until the last day. But finishing 2nd at that level of competition is a great accomplishment and bodes well for his future as a Longhorn QB.

Damn! I mean....well....DAMN! He get through the check off really quickly and has zip and accuracy with the ball. He's going to be fun to watch.

Craig Way made it sound like Lamar was down more than a handful of playmakers because of some kind of off-field incident. Hope Shane gets some help in the coming weeks. Even on his good plays, it looked like he was facing tremendous pressure.

Watching the late-start game between Calif. De La Salle and Euless Trinity..
Trinity offense... #2 should be play for a Charlie Strong team. #25 could take over Deja's role.

Looked good on scrambles too. I'm not one to make early comparisons, but Buechele looks about as polished as Colt did his RS-freshman year already. In the face of pressure, he puts the correct touch on the ball. He's not afraid to step up in the pocket (*cough* current QBs *cough*) and his runs are superior to Colt's, if that amounts to much. If he continues to develop at the college level... man. All we need is some OL help and he'll be dominant.

With spring practice anf then the fall workouts, he should be ready to start. Espically after last nites QBing or lack of.

For the second-straight week, Arlington Lamar (11-1) won a game against a West Texas opponent thanks to quarterback Shane Buechele. The Elite 11 finalist accounted for four scores as the Vikings conquered the Troopers of El Paso Eastwood (9-3) 42-35 at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa. The 6-foot-2, 185 pounder scored the game’s initial touchdown on a 29-yard quarterback draw, and sealed the game with a three-yard scoring toss with 7:29 remaining in the fourth. In total, Buechele totaled 129 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10-of-14 passing, while also rushing for 113 yards and two more scores. Due up for Lamar in the Regional Semi-Finals is Mansfield (10-2). Probably need to tap the brakes a little on the next year stuff. A lot of difference between ND and ou than Eastwood and Mansfield.

Got to keep it real. Hopefully he gets to red shirt and learn the college game before being thrown to the wolves.
