2026 Recruiting-Football

David was mean when necessary. Ask Gary Barnett or Bob Stoops or Steve Orsik (sp) or the funeral home owner in Poteau. (Al Dowdell ??)

But what will happen when the SEC referees agree?

The SEC refs agree with what's best for the conference. Once TV ratings explode with all the Texas vs whoever games, I promise you the SEC head office only wants more of what is working thus bringing in more dinero. The reason the Big XII seemed to be so anti Texas is that it is boring to only have two teams who can compete for anything. My post seems a little arrogant, but whatever. 15 conference championships this year seems to back me up.

Courage is the prime virtue, however it’s often denounced as arrogance. You answered a question with a well reasoned response.

The benefits of additional revenues will no doubt be a determinant of fair officiating, but more so in the beginning perhaps.

But what happens in the subconscious minds of the officials, when you were raised a SEC fan, and there’s a 50/50 call to be made?

People around the country have a strong opinion about the State of Texas. Having lived all over during my life, I’m here to tell you, most folks are very jealous of Texas at best. Some admire us but they are in the distinct minority.

Then there’s the City of Austin. Once upon a time, 50 years ago, very few people around the country knew much more about Austin than it being a city in Texas. With Austin’s unreal achievements have come the haters.

As the SEC learns what they are up against, by visiting Texas, Austin and UT, what will be their reaction on a subconscious level? Will it be admiration or deep seeded envy?

This aspect might..in the long term…be a negative determining factor of fair officiating.

Finally I do believe that some officials are crooked. That aspect is always a wild card. It could hurt or help the longhorns, theoretically, but perhaps not. Those gangsters sure would like to siphon-off some of our petro dollars, that we so willing gamble on Texas. We are all rich, arrogant but stupid oilmen who deserve it.

There’s just too much money involved for there not to be criminal officials. But importantly, how will the officiating be once the envy evolves?

While I don’t expect absurd Big 12 bias, there will be some and it will not be insignificant. Some of them will not even know they are biased at the subconscious level.

What, "arrogant", us? I smell a meme.

I lived in Lubbock 18 yrs. The tcehies, trying to immulate what they perceived to be "Texas Arrogance", totally miss the mark & hit the bull's eye for Obnoxious. I have friends who bragged about how obnoxious they (tceh) were/are.

There's a reason we call them sand aggy.

Exact reason I don’t put too much stock on those early commitments. Too many things happen over two years to count on those kids keeping with what they think that early. This is especially true with NIl and the revolving portal. You can go from #1 spot to a ‘maybe’ #2 overnight and not have done anything to deserve it.

Wrecking Ball please!
We have a very loaded RB room. After Bijon and Roschon showing you can share the load and still get to the league which is huge to reduce the impact on the body, surprised more dont follow that model. Blue and Baxter showed the same thing last year so this may be the wave of the future and we have the stable to run it.

I grew up out there and its crazy they champion being a POS as some kind of accomplishment. Never missed a day of that after I left.
