I am really surprised we don’t play more Big 12 teams! I don’t think they want any of that action.

Texas Tech I mean.
I'm glad Longhorns are playing Tech (twice) early. It will give us a chance to see how our batting is vs Canady. This would be a good measuring stick for the season.

When he said they tried out Katie Stewart at SS, you know Viv's season is done.
I hate this for her considering how she was picking up offensively, but i know whoever fills in will have her back.
FYI, the start times of softball games have been updated, so you can see them now on your calendars if you've got a subscription to them like I do. Back-to-back double headers to start the home weekend series. And part of the Texas Tech second game runs into the WBB vs. LSU game.

During the early season games they don't, usually you get 1 ticket for 2 games.
The opening weekend is going to be a logistical nightmare for the team!!
Feb 7 - Double header, game 1 3:30 - 5:30, game 2 6:00 - 8:00. Get on a bus to Beaumont 2 hour drive. Maybe arrive by 11pm.
Feb 8 - 2 games 12:00 - 2:00, 6:00 - 8 pm. Get on bus to Huntsville 2:30 hour drive. Maybe arrive between 11 and midnight.
Feb 9 - Double header, game 1 11:30 - 1:30, game 2 2:00 - 4:00. Return to Austin 3 hour drive. Maybe arrive by 8 or 9pm.
These times are based on presumption every game is played within 2 hours and nothing causes any delays which never happens.

First game is in Lafayette La. I got the travel times off my gps and they are conservative.
I'm very conflicted because I'm NOT a fan of Patti....yet...
Does Texas really deserve to be ranked higher than gooner? I know they lost some good players, but they got some really good players from the portal and had a great recruiting class.
Same as last year. Looks too good to be true and we're always looking over our shoulder to see how Patti is going to use not being #1 to motivate her squad. Always waiting for Pitcher 1 and Pitcher 1a to graduate....and then she reloads with some freshman phenom(s).
Good thing our girls are young and full of energy.

Being a bit cynical, she probably doesn't know exactly what she has yet and going into SEC play with a not so great record is probably not something she is looking for....
Got a new side hustle. I thought she was/is a realtor in Austin.
There is a tik-tok meme going around where former players diss on their ex-coaches to a song. My daughter has been sending me screenshots of some of the hotter takes. I had one for volleyball, but it's too harsh to put up in Volleytalk. But this one is for Craig Snider and his 2 year stint at Tech.
