2024 Recruiting - WBB

Longhorns finish with the 5th ranked class:
i

No. 5 Texas

Highest-ranked commit: G Jordan Lee (No. 9)

Lee has a reputation for being a lockdown perimeter defender. Over the past couple of seasons, she has shown a steady improvement on the offensive end -- particularly in the areas of creating her own shot and a higher percentage from the 3.
  • No. 12 Justice Carlton is an active forward who dominates on the glass. She is comfortable putting the ball on the floor and creating in the face-up game or pushing the ball full court after defensive rebounds. She is able to stretch the floor on the offensive end because she is a threat in catch-and-shoot 3-point opportunities. Carlton has a knack on the defensive end for getting her hands on the ball in passing lanes and using her physicality for an advantage.

  • No. 43 Bryanna Preston is a quick point guard who excels in defensive ball pressure and pushing the ball in the fast break. She breaks down defenses off the dribble and creates for teammates.
This is a very complementary class for the style of coach Vic Schaefer and the Texas program. They all play with a defensive prowess and have a requisite physical toughness for their conference move to the SEC.

Jordan makes the U18 squad…

The 12-member roster, selected from 26 trials participants, will compete at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup from June 17-23 in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Love to see Charlie again with Justice and Elena! What could have been if she would have stuck around another year?

It definitely would've been better for Texas. Probably for Charli as well. She wouldn't have been the 1st overall pick in any other draft and it seems the WNBA teams have decided she's pretty much hit her ceiling (and been found lacking) or she would've been picked up by someone - at least on a training camp contract. Saying all that, based on NIL projections her junior year, she could've made more money in her final season at UT than she did in her 2 combined years in the WNBA.
