2024 Recruiting - Football

Duce to usc.
I’m glad, man that kid……
Of course I’d be happy if he came here, but I say good luck young man- you better be an All American while you played the hot chick for the last 365 days. I would skip the news release about this kid for the last month.
The drama lost me.

IT reiterated today that the staff wants both RB Jerrick Gibson (Bradenton, FL) and RB Christian Clark (Phoenix, AZ) in this class, and there's some confidence that they'll be able to land them.

They've heard from Arizona folks who believe Texas is in the driver's seat for Clark as things stand.

That leaves the in-state guys as third and fourth options, and they mentioned Ohio State is trending well with RB James Peoples (San Antonio Veterans Memorial) currently, but he'll be in Austin for the spring game.

Jerrick Gibson, IMG Academy, Running Back

Christian Clark, Mountain Pointe, Running Back

Per IT, two DL the staff is working to get to campus are Kamron Beavers (Bay Springs, MS) and Jayden Jackson (Bradenton, FL).

Jackson is a possibility in April, but June is another option.

There was one report saying Beavers would be in Austin last weekend for Junior Day, but he didn't make it.

Jayden Jackson, IMG Academy, Defensive Line

247 had an update on CB Selman Bridges of Lake Belton, and they claim Texas is trending "extremely well" there after his recent visit to Austin where he and his family were able to sit down with Sark.

"The family went in with a list of questions to ask Sark and Joseph but Sark was doing such a good job talking that he ended up answering all of their questions without them having to ever even ask."

They also said the staff has been pointing to the development of CB Jahdae Barron as a way to sell the program since Bridges and Barron share the same trainer.

S David Kabongo of Trophy Club Byron Nelson told 247 that Kansas and Texas are standing out most to him right now.

He set up officials to Kansas and SMU recently, and wants to schedule Texas for June.

A summer commitment after those visits is his plan for now.

Texas and Kansas?
What?

On3 with a quote from the mother of DE Colin Simmons from Duncanville.

“They’re very, well, welcoming. Texas is what I’m used to. It’s Texas, you know, it’s always gonna feel like home. And then down the street for me, that’s a win-win, right? I can always get to them. He (Colin) loves them. He just says it’s pure bliss when he steps on campus. That’s pretty cool.”

10.18 - FINALLY some real speed unless he is this generations answer to Wayne ??? from Richardson. Wayne was the fastest white man in the world, but had ZERO moves

For sure, it's some real speed, but recently I was 2 sec. faster. Ran a 8.18. Would still like to get the guy.
