What did he mean he left his family to take the aggy job? He did say it was the last job he'd take.

Maybe his family had better sense than to move to Malfunction Junction with him?

He didn’t mention his family moved to Austin when he left for aggy land (just kidding, I don’t know).

    sa,

If Jim Duke was still alive, I would print that and take it to him because Jim was a yell leader at aTm, but as I read your post, my first thought was of him and those infamous words I got every time I made fun of the Aggies:

"Son, one day that bird is going to bring you into Herman and those will be the last words you hear before you go under".

Jim was TCU's HC from 2004-2021. I presume his wife and kids all wanted to stay near Ft. Worth over going to CS. Can you blame them?

I wouldn't blame them if they preferred Mogadishu or Gaza over College Station.

As I have opined before, there is nothing more amusing than watching aggie hit the wall at full speed. In the top of the ninth, aggie was going 105 mph. Once the aggie collective reaches the acceptance stage, they will start listing the moral victories gained in the loss. Then numerous forms of “wait til next year”.

Great pic and ironic that both coaches have their eyes closed as if to say, "I can't watch this ****".

When you are on the big stage and the ags first time there, you shoulder the burden. Getting upset for a question asked is pretty typical ag behavior. I dont believe it was wrong because it was obviously in the news. Someone was going to ask. If he sucked at his job, it wouldnt have been rumored.

It was a classless move to ask the question at that time, but the fact that the guy asking was the owner of an Aggie website similar to HornFans should get his *** banned from the locker room and his press credentials revoked at Kyle.

Before anyone blows a gasket, yes, it has been done before. Bum Phillips banned a newspaper "reporter" from Oiler's locker rooms, press conferences, and plane. IIRC, Bum wouldn't let him fly back on the team plane with other reporters.

Just learned Jim was getting divorced when he switched from TCU to aggy, and his kids are college-aged or older so now the comment makes less sense.

So where are the women's trophies?

Aggies won the women's basketball national championship in 2011 with legendary coach Gary Blair. They named the ball court for him. Softball Aggies were national champs in 1983 and 1987, and won 2 in the pre-NCAA days. And they have had numerous track and field stars.

Typical Ags. ... overlooking the women. Hrumpf.

"From the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, I'm Dr. Red Duke." I can still hear him. I used to have a Dr. Duke mustache. I used to LOVE listening to Dr. Duke. Incredibly smart. He made medicine fun.
