2024 MCWS

sa, he was the funniest guy you have ever met,

Real conversation when he arrived just before DAC took the stage:

"Gawwd damn, I didn't think they'd ever snuff that son of ***** out. Son, I opened and closed him so damn fast he didn't have time to bleed two drops. I needa beer"

"Jim, they've got Lone Star and they have Coors"

"Son, drinkin Coors is like makin love in a canoe; it's fuckin near water"

Aggies obviously never learned to interpret "coach speak". He NEVER said "NO". They heard what they WANTED to hear

Dr. Red was 1 of a kind. My understanding is that, at one time, he was the highest paid state employee in Texas...& he deserved to be.
I never met him in person, but he was my sponsor's doc.

I would deny the money situation, but if he was, he still would have driven that ugly-*** Chevy pickup. I always told him if his kids didn't put all the quotes I had from him on his tombstone, I was going to get stencils and Burnt Orange pray paint and paint em on there. He's buried over in The State Cemetery in Austin with (as I told him) "a great view to see WINNING football".

I never knew whether or not that salary rumor was true, but I always thought he deserved it. He was/is certainly a Texas legend that 0-few state employees, past or present, could match.

Aggy response to:

1. The University gracing the $ec with our presence;
2. Sark leading the Horns to the CFP
3. Losing two straight in the CWS to keep their streak of futility in tact:
4. Schloss leaving for Texas and reminding them exactly of their place in the eco system

They were getting pretty bold about calling themselves " Big Brother". Haven't seen that crap in a few hours.

Someone at TexAgs suggested each coaching staff at aggy should have a former student or player on staff to insure “loyalty”. Reminds me of the Chinese communist party.

Why would they need to insure loyalty if their school is a destination job?

One only needs to insure loyalty when one is a stepping stone.

Loyalty in business starts at the top and trickles down. When the head man has NO loyalty or respect for his employees and fails to communicate with them on major decisions that impact them, where's the loyalty?

I remember an unexpected visit from our CEO one day, just stepped into my office and said, "We need to make some cuts. If I ask you to cut eight people this Friday, who would it be? Just start thinking about it". A few months later, he stuck his head in and said, "Five next week". He did not fire five of my division without any notice or input to me.
