2024 GOP Primary

mc Great Oped
What also didn't happen that I have read is protestors disrupting Trump. Didn't several groups announce they would?
AOC must be triggered.

Trump only needs PA + GA to win 270 on top of the states he won in 2020. In other words, he doesn’t have to win AZ, NV, MI, or WI. Hard to believe but true. Of course, Biden has no chance in FL or NC, which Trump won in 2020.

I think Trump is trying to expand the field of play so Dems don’t know which states to concentrate their cheating, or at least dilute the effort over more states.
Trump has adopted a Mike Leach offensive scheme?

don’t like him but I like the scheme. A Pirate inspires a Pirate!!

I watched this happen in real time. It is an abomination and took a last minute dishonest deal between the 2nd and 3rd place nominees to overcome the guy who was in 1st place the whole time. In fact the 3rd place guy told the 1st place guy 4 times that he would endorse him at the end. Then he basically showed himself a liar and accepted a VP role with the 2nd place guy to give all his votes over to the 2nd place guy.

Then the same actors delayed the VP vote until 12 AM last night until enough delegates left so that the 3rd place guy could win the VP over another guy who campaigned as VP for months. It was a real s-show, and makes me embarrassed to be a libertarian.

However! Trump promised to follow several of the Libertarian priorities if he wins and also to appoint libertarians to his cabinet. I'm voting for Trump now. Chase Oliver winning the LP nomination is a huge help to Trump.

Thanks for explaining it Mona
All I read about the guy who ended up the nominee seemed bizarre even for Libertarians
No offense intended to you:beertoast:

The problem is that the appeal will probably be looked at after the election. I hope I'm wrong here.

Any chance the judge will allow Trump to remain free until the appeals dry up?

If it’s an appeal either way, better to have the judge making reversible errors along the way.

But will New York appellate courts dominated by partisan Democrats who don't want to lose their political careers find a way to make those reversible errors not so reversible and not so erroneous?

The NY appellates have been fair to Trump so far. Whatever happens in NY the SCOTUS will not tolerate this.

That and Trump's team won about 5-6 minor rulings against Engoron in the appeals.

A NY state law that allows this is something the SCOTUS would look at. Zero chance this is legal.

A few minor rulings isn't like tossing a conviction. I hope you're right, but I'm not optimistic in their state judges.

The judge in the criminal case is pushing it on the unanimity requirement. Could it invite federal review? Maybe.

If Trump wins it’s because he was banned on twitter by the morons who were running it then. Trump no longer tweets on X.

So if Trump is convicted and sentenced to a prison term, is he still the GOP candidate? I would think yes he will be.

Would he win against Biden running from a jail cell or on probation? Maybe, maybe not. The optics are horrendous.

Yes he would be the candidate and one could argue the optics would be worse for Biden.
