I didn’t even know he had an issue. Now I’m concerned if he does cause I was counting him as a serious contributor on the mound. One of our top 5 pitchers in my book to begin the season.
 
The last time this team started in Arlington they lost all three but made the national semi's and were a play or two away from playing for a national championship. hopefully that start in Arlington magic works again this year but without the winless beginning. Hoping to get to at least one of the games down the road and counting down the days.:hookem:

That came from one of the Fall Ball interviews. Apparently Harrison had some soreness in the elbow and was resting it and taking it easy. Could be nothing, but that’s how Witt’s situation was first reported. Hopefully there was nothing to it.

It seemed at times last season that Harrison was the ONLY reliable reliever we had--though Southard was almost always good coming out of the pen--he just got regularly jobbed by the umps early in the season.

Something else to keep in mind. This year, we bring plenty of left handed batters to the plate. I think Kennedy may have been our only one in the starting lineup last year.
 
SI is making way early predictions about Regionals...

They're saying we won't host a Regional this year, but rather we may end up as the #2 seed in Fayetteville...

Who the heck knows at this stage (pre-season). I think we'll be one of the top 16, if not top 8 teams by the end of the year. But I could be wrong...

Texas Baseball: Anticipation builds toward opener against Arkansas

At this point, just about everyone in the media who writes about college baseball realizes that Dylan Campbell is really good. Campbell's 2022 homerun numbers are skewed downwards because he only started a little over half the games. Campbell can bat for power, OB %, and can steal bases. He covers a lot of ground in the OF. All-around ball player.

And most are finally starting to realize that Lucas "Geno" Gordon is also really good. For some reason, up until about now, Geno has received little respect from the media. Dude had the best ERA of any starting pitcher in the Big 12 for 2022--and it wasn't even close. He doesn't throw his fastball above the low 90s (and often not even that fast). So what. Neither did those great Atlanta Braves pitchers of the 1990s. He's the master of the tricky changups and using multiple changes of speed + movement. And he'll sneak a low 90s fastball past 'ya for the strikeout that looks plenty fast.

Looks like the other schools may be releasing UT and OU from the big 12 earlier…? Or we're just bolting earlier…?
 
Big 12 baseball is a tale of two conferences. The top half (+ maybe another team or so) is very good and just about equal to any conference out there. The teams in the bottom echelon are pretty lousy, would struggle for a winning record in the MAC, and would need a few breaks to win the Ivy League.

pitcher Grant Siegel from Tulane transferred into WV and he's good.
