2023 Recruiting - Softball

1. Kayden Henry, OF - Dickinson, TX
2. Katie Stewart, SS/C - Orland Park, IL
3. Victoria Hunter, IF - Houston, TX
4. Adayah Wallace, OF - Plano, TX

Highly rated 2023 pitcher Teagan Kavan visited Texas, Minnesotan and just recently UCLA. As we missed on Ava Brown, Teagan is our hope for a top rated '23 pitcher.
I guess we'll hear something soon.

I saw where UCLA recently received a verbal commitment from 2023 pitcher Kaitlyn Terry (Arizona Storm ) LHP - EIS #10.

About 3 weeks ago, UCLA landed a verbal from 2022 pitcher Taylor Tinsley out of Georgia.

Maybe those recent verbals will steer Kavan away from UCLA.

Would love to get this one! We need a pitcher in this class and she’s at the top.

I noticed when Kaden Henry and Katie Stewart each announced their commitment
Teagan sent both an encouraging message - I think they all three visited Texas on the same weekend.

Huge get! Always good when you start getting recruits over LSU, Washington, and UCLA

T-9—Teagan Kavan, P/UT , Iowa Premier 16U National
Teagan is an imposing figure in the circle at 6-foot tall and she commands the strike zone with precision including the elite ability to go both up and down with velocity and late break. Last Fall she led her Iowa Premier team to titles at the 2020 Fall Alliance Cup and the HFL Fall 16U Championship. The highlight thus far in 2021 was at the Top Club National Spring Invite in Oklahoma City where she threw a no-hitter and struck out striking 15 and was only one pitch away from a perfect game against a top national program. Teagan receives her instruction from one of the most renowned pitching coaches in the sport in Bill Hillhouse, known for producing some of the top hurlers now in college. Teagan also has the athleticism to play shortstop when not in the circle. Every major Power 5 school in the country has invited her to their Elite Camps and according to one Iowa Premier coach, “She has every major Power 5 school on her.”

And don't forget Minnesota was in the hunt also - a solid program and only 3 or so hours away from her home. This was outstanding recruiting by the staff.

@NBhornfan is she the #1 pitcher in her class or is she in the 2-5 range?

They have her at like 8th, but some of the ones ahead profile more as a hitter first pitcher second. This is a real hard sport to rank, not enough scouts to go around. A lot of it has to do with travel ball team and coaches. However I will say does seem to be getting closer.

Also if she hits in Austin will be from left side.

Looking like Texas is catching up to California in softball recruiting. So many players heading out of state, a lot passing on Baylor and A&M.

Texas has pitchers going to out of state to Washington, Missouri, North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State

Future Longhorn Victoria Hunter getting some kudos from Mom while playing with her summer league team.

Had to do a double-take and say to myself, "she's not playing for the Sooners, she's not playing for the Sooners". Maybe that's good practice for how far to hit the next time she does play AGAINST the Sooners.

Adayah Wallace hitting an inside the park Home run for her high school team Plano West. Mike really has a lot of speed coming in the 23 class. Adayah, Victoria Hunter and and Kayden Henry all have Mia Scott type speed!!
