2023 Recruiting - Football

Legend, I don’t see it that way. In fact, I now believe that “he chose to transfer” for financial reasons, looking for the highest bidder. Given that his family lives in the shadows of DKR and his former coach is now on staff, why in the world would he choose Nebraska. “Nebraska?”

It’s all about the money. Certainly from a “short term financial perspective,” he made the right decision. Long term? We shall see.

You have a kid from the Austin area who was never recruited by Texas...he and his family didn't forget that. Patterson then used that to fuel a hatred of Texas for four years. He was never coming here unless we were his only major option. Sure the money is probably pretty good, but he was looking for a reason not to come here in my opinion.

Arch related news .... :hookem:

WR Johntay Cook dropped his top five and omitted Ga and bama. Ga was perceived to be the biggest threat for Manning. He and Arch have been talking about playing together since last summer with Tx being the only common denominator. Hmmm...

cnb,

I know I'm old and out of touch, and not picking on Mr Hunter Osborne, but I'm on the verge of shutting out all recruiting news. Probably 50+% of these offers I cannot understand and would not have assisted in recruiting back in the day. Slow, weak, no vertical, what the hell am I missing? Are we going the Nebraska route of 50 projects who we groom for three years and hope to get two years as a starter?

Understand that I am all in on Sarkisian and this staff, but for the life of me some of these recruits make no sense and are a waste of time.

I hope this staff isn't falling into the Barry Switzer/Scott Hill trap that so many did before.

I think you must have a different Hunter Osborne. It seems he is being recruited by everyone and is a high 4 star so I have to believe his measurables are off the charts.

A DL that can't bench his weight?

No speed times tells me they might not be that good

No vertical?

Wingspan?

There are "offers" and then there are "offers'". That's why i made the statement about Scott.

I hope the young man is all that and winds up in Austin. I'm just seeing a lot of slow, weak kids getting offers.

bout time ... poaching has got to stop

About 15 years ago, the NCAA banned our fat (200+ pages) football team program they sent to boosters every August but apparently can’t control millions of dollars sent to recruits by boosters?
