2023 Recruiting - Football

No problem. Recruit more agile giants. Cornerbacks and running backs are way more common than athletic linemen.

I dont think recruiting has much to do with school anymore. It is all about the money. Makes one wonder about the money deals. Is a player required to play in bowl games if he has received the endorsements? Can he portal out to another school. If I was giving money, I would put attachments on it.

i wonder the same thing ? How are things structured ? If a player portals out do they forfeit any monies ? I’m sure at some point they will be designed similar to NFL contracts to protect the player and the school’s interests. It’s just a matter of time.

Can a player just transfer and collect money from four universities in a row? What are the limitations?

Hamilton over at IT said there is nothing to see currently with Baxter and Malik. Have to love recruiting.

Help me if I don't remember someone, but the two best players I can remember out of Freeport/Brazoswood are

1) King Hill in 53 I believe

2) LB in 74 (David ???) went to Third Ward

Brazoswood is Lake Jackoson. Brazosport is basically Tortuga of Texas.

2003,

I combined them in the post because Brazosport (Lake Jackson) didn't exist until the early 70s.

Freeport treated us better than any school we visited. Their HS cafeteria prepared us a pregame meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, chocolate cake.

I'll never forget those 27 buses in the Baytown/LaPorte tunnel.

Well that's some history right there.

Per IT, DT DJ Hicks of Katy Paetow was in touch with Coach Davis twice this week.

“I talk to Oklahoma still, Florida, Oregon and Texas.” Hicks told On3 Thursday afternoon. “I plan on maybe taking a visit to Oregon, official to Oklahoma and maybe Texas.”

“Yes sir, Texas has a shot. Coach (Bo) Davis is a really good coach. And Coach Sark is a really good coach. Being able to play for two really good coaches, and two really good minds.”

“I talked to Coach Bo Davis last night (Wednesday). He’s a really good guy. I feel like he’s a really great coach. He’s coached a lot of really good players just looking at his background. He knows the game really well.”

“Hope fully I can (visit). They want me to come up for the TCU game. I’m not sure if I can make it yet.”

King Hill played for Freeport/Brazosport and Rice and David Hodge for Brazoswood and Houston.
