2023 Recruiting - Football

I watched a lot of the Duncanville-SOC game. Lots of good athletes but both offenses looked so out of sync. Erratic qb play unless they took the snap and ran it.
Good hitting on defense.
Coaching?
Excellent defense on both sides but also horrible QB play on both sides. The defense reminds me of when Mack and Stoops used to seek speed/speed/speed on defense. Since Mack left, its never been a focus and you can see it in the results. Hate to harp on it but with the LHN, just watch the D in 2008. Light years difference and a lot has to do with speed at all positions. We had big mobile DL, pretty fast LB and always solid DB's. I always thought Akina had a lot to do with the DB's play. It was interesting hearing Acho on the broadcast yesterday talking about Akina as the DB coach at stanford and they have an exceptional DB there. Sure hope we have a much different D this year but until PK proves it, he is a major liability to this team.

there are a million commit highlights from this past weekend but this is the only one that made me lol ... go big fella go :coolnana::fiestanana::popcorn:

Note on the first TD by Quinn this season was a pass to a TE (Sanders) with Helm (another TE) running underneath and open as well. Need 1-2 more TE’s at OT and blocking TE.

interesting to me ... who was the last player for us to play both baseball and football? Have we had one?
Mike Scarborough was a wide receiver and played center field (1997), but was not a notable contributor here. I'm pretty sure he transferred after his sophomore year, to TCU if I recall correctly.
