For all the worrywarts worried about Skenes's arm, they didn't pitch him tonight (didn't need to). Now Pierce needs to hire a consultant who knows how to work NIL/portal deals like LSU did this past year.

Well, given that the men's baseball team is in 10th place among all UT athletics programs in terms of NIL money available to them, maybe Pierce and that consultant you speak of would start off hamstrung. Now Pierce needs to hire a consultant who knows how to work NIL/portal deals like LSU did this past year.
I just want LSU to lose.
The way the prices of Aunt Sally's pralines keep going up, one can suspect more money into the LSU NIL pool.Wonder what their NIL deal was that brought them to Baton Rouge.
I didn't realize that contributions could be directed to a particular sport (thought it was just a general fund), good to know.Perhaps the first thing that needs to happen is for more people to direct NIL money to Baseball through the Texas One Fund. Then let's see what Pierce and some consultant can do.
Next year?

Yes, sir. You can direct contributions generally, or to a particular sport. Frankly, I was very surprised to hear the guys on The Horn note that Baseball is so low on the NIL totem pole at Texas. That really ought to change.I didn't realize that contributions could be directed to a particular sport (thought it was just a general fund), good to know.
That's gonna have to change.
While I understand this sentiment, I'm not a proponent of it. If we want to stay high up on the list of championships, we should win some more championships. Rooting for the closest competition to lose is kinda, dare I say it, Aggie.I don't want LSU to take over Texas with second most titles all time!

That’s one of multiple reasons to be against LSU.While I understand this sentiment, I'm not a proponent of it. If we want to stay high up on the list of championships, we should win some more championships. Rooting for the closest competition to lose is kinda, dare I say it, Aggie.
Maybe all those blue collar Cajuns know how NIL works a little better than Texas apparently does? That’s one of multiple reasons to be against LSU.
- Bought their team.
- Skip Bertman
- a good chunk of their program was built is terrible era
- they are sec and all that comes with that.
Well it’s true LSU has been paying players for decades before NIL, so quite a head start.Maybe all those blue collar Cajuns know how NIL works a little better than Texas apparently does?
