2023 College World Series

Really wanted to see ORU run the table like Coastal did a few years ago. After all, if we can't have it, let some small school piss off the big boys...

Chop, after our Regional with Air Force last year, I think you said you were going to work on getting that AF pitcher/catcher (Paul Skenes) to transfer to Texas, but he ended up at LSU. What the hell happened?

Well, impressive or not, they are down to the final 2.

But you know, they are 3-1 versus Tech/TCU. We’re 5-1 versus those two. So obviously we’re better.

One of best pitching duels at the CWS ever last night. LSU should beat Florida but did they completely destroy their pitching for games one and two last night giving the Gators the opportunity to win in two. If the championship gets to Skenes in game three I know who I think wins.

Money had to play a big role in that as lsu inked possibly the best portal class for many years to come. Skenes is a legit pro starter who happens to still be in college.

That game last night reminded me of our series with Stanford. UF was plucky and hung in there, but in the end, LSU was the better team.

Florida is absolutely curb stomping LSU. 19-3 in the 8th. And thos was after the kitty cats, had an early lead...

Interesting. Evans for UF has certainly been a key piece, if not the key piece in UFs run. He’s a ****** sub-230 hitter prior to game 1.

7-16. 4 HRs, 2 doubles.

Gatos down 4-1 in the 7th versus UVA. He doubles to get the runner to 3rd who then scored on a groundout. He then homers in the 9th to cut it to 1. Riopelle a ****** .250 hitter scored a run and homered to cut the lead to 2 in the 8th. Florida wins game 1.

In game 2, he hits a two run homer to the Gators on the board. They win by 1.

Game 3 he was blanked. No wonder they only scored 3.

Game 4 doubled and scored.

Game 5. 4 of the hitters prior to him struck out. Then he homers for UFs first run. UF scratches to a 3-3 tie but a couple of strikeouts and the dude snatches momentum again.

Evans didn’t start game 1, but he’s saved their *** in several games with his contribution. He’s got 170 ABs so he’s not a forgotten man, but there’s a lesson here.

UF rough up Skenes and win another.

Will Paul Skenes pitch in College World Series finals? What is LSU ace's status for Game 3 vs. Florida?

"No MLB pitcher in 2023 has thrown 120 pitches or more this season, let alone done it on four days' rest as Skenes did against Wake Forest. It would be a tremendous health risk to throw more pitches in a nine-day span than the 243 he has already racked up."

Well, if he pitched for Stanford, Skenes would be on the mound throwing 140+ pitches tonight.
Between aggy and us, the Stanford coach showed how little he cared about his pitching staff's future.

I have a feeling they care more about winning than Skenes arm. It's in game like last night you wish your team coulda carry some runs over.

Really pisses me off at coaches who care more about W/L & trophies than the health & future of their players.

LSU was already a talented group. The addition of Skenes and White put them over the top.

Wonder what their NIL deal was that brought them to Baton Rouge.
