2023-24 Transfer Portal Thread (CLosed-Opens APRIL 15TH)

I think part of it is alleviated by no more Covid years to grant after this season. That whole "six years to play five" got out of hand, especially in basketball. I'm fine with players transferring and playing immediately, because coaches do it all the time.

Sad about Walton. He was dominant at SOC. I'm thinking someone got in his ear about the improved health of Vasek or how Moore knocked him down a notch in the pecking order. It's weird to think that edge hasn't really been a strong suit for this team going back to the Mack years and one decent year of Addai, yet we have dudes portaling out.

Kirkland is the first of the 2023 class to bolt from that OL group. We've really only cracked the surface of what that group has to offer: Baxter, Cook, Hill, Muhammad, and Williams are the only difference makers from the freshmen. They're going to be the core of a national championship run for sure.

In regards to Walton, Collin and Zina have moved past him in the depth chart. I was hoping he would hang at least thru his true frosh year.
Expecting 1 more portal ou of last years OL class.

The next new position for college coaching staff will be Portal Analyst.
And add NIL specialists to the coaching staff, lol
Seriously, I totally blame the NCAA for all this portal and pay crap. If they had an ounce of brains and understanding YEARS ago, we would not have had the Supreme court creating the NIL system the way it has gotten out of control.

Good luck to Tapp, it was clear he was never going to jump the new talent at Edge.

Handicapping the position, DT, seems like it’s about as challenging and inexact as handicapping quarterbacks in the NFL draft. Murphy was a three star and the 27th ranked DT in the country coming out of high school. Grant at Michigan was a three star. So who knows? It must come down to the ability develop these guys, and their motors.

It’ll be interesting to see who comes to Texas and how they evolve.
