this!! I would be willing to bet CDC(whom i love) is more to blame than Vic. I don’t see nearly the same level of effort advertising women sports like he does men’s sports. I love CDC and wish the leadership puts women sports at UT at the top with NIL cause history shows women sports have carried this university in more ways than just championships.
 
It doesn't matter how many private jets you have or donors you line up if these athletes aren't buying what we selling who's fault is that? I beleive winning cures all. Create a product that the portal athlete and the recruit wants to buy into.

I see a ton of paid social content for women’s sports. No clue about the NIL part but it seems to being MIA.
 
Every time I click here I hope to read some good news, we finally got a couple, or at least one, like last week for the men's team. But nada!

Damn, it's frustrating. It wouldn't be as frustrating if some of the top recruits were still undecided and considering Texas, but that's not the case either. I'm not sure who's at fault but the HC and AD need to get their &%$# together.
 
I’m confused to those blaming CDC. Because as the AD of the school who cannot directly or indirectly influence NIL $ related to specific athletes, what should he be doing that he isn’t?
What is LSU as a program doing that Texas is not? I think the simple truth is that Mulkey is hot right now and kids want to play for her regardless of our personal feelings toward her as an individual. And the LSU fanbase has put their money where their mouth is. Can all Texas fans say the same?

My blame towards CDC is based on what I see personally through social media. I follow most UT sports and it’s obvious that he retweet’s or posts things often that are men’s sports. This may or may not have any impact with NIL, but CDC is where the buck stops, no? I could be totally wrong, and if I am please correct me, but regardless women’s sports have always been the side moving the political needle & actually winning, yet their resources aren’t as luxurious as other sports. Sorry for my rant y’all. :(

Looks like we didn't recruit her. She just committed to TCU. Probably wants to be close to home in her final year (although bAiler wasn't that far) and get some actual PT.
 
I’m still confused about the Quinerly thing. Looks like she was going to enter the portal but hasn’t. She started following Clemson women’s basketball, a couple of our players and a linebacker on the football team but still hasn’t entered the portal. I’m assuming she’s still deciding but the portal is about to close so she probably changed her mind.
 
Also all of the assistants are following Prater’s mother. Although she wouldn’t be my first option in terms of what we need I would take her for depth.

Not sure if you are stating this as recent activity. JJ had started following Rori and Aaliyah back on March 25 (according to this thread). So, if those are "our players" who you are referring to, definitely not recent. You might be facing refresh issues like I encounter on IG occasionally.
 
Priscilla Williams, 6-foot shooting guard/wing enters portal out of USF. What do y’all think, possibilities? She had considered Mississippi State as an incoming freshman.

Yeah the Rori and Aaliyah follows weren’t recent I was just saying it’s strange how all the signs of her entering the portal were there but nothing came of it.

If I'm not mistaken she was on the wish list for some of this time last year. She had a pretty good freshman season at Syracuse and is a former McDonald's and Jordan Brand Classic All-American. If there is a downside, she's yet another 6'2" wing and not the combo guard that we are desperately in need of. She shoots the 3 ball at a high clip though.

According to someone who seemed to be paying attention, Priscilla may have been MIA for USF last season. No clue the reasoning for her absence, if true, but we had an MIA of our own already, so there’s that. Backup for Rori seems the priority as has often been pointed out.

PW played for Missouri Phenom, as did Sug Sutton. She also follows Sug, as well as Rori on IG.

She played in 17 games, averaged just 6.7 minutes, 0 starts. Her last game played was 1/31.
 
Well... Today is the last day to enter the portal. With that, I guess we already know what our roster is going to look like for the upcoming season.
 

I think it’s safe to say Vic will be sticking to what he has. I don’t agree and do believe we need more shooting and a backup pg but I guess that’s why I’m just a fan:idk:

He would have taken THE RIGHT transfer if they had wanted to come to Texas. Spear, Quinnerly, Mair, etc...

Yes, it's a thin line to walk, and a bit of a catch-22. Do you take a mediocre player because you may not get the one you want, or hold out for the one you want. Obviously Vic held out for the later and got stuck with nothing. Maybe there's someone he can still get. I don't like any of Gonzalez, Maul or Booker being a backup PG.
