2022 Recruiting - Football

Gotta be thinking an OLB considering his age right JF?

DE/OLB depending on the system. There is some chatter he might even be 6'5 now
The Oilers used to have a 6'7 DE in a 4-man front names Sean Jones. He got after the QB very well (when motivated, lol). But what really stood out to me with that height was that when he dove at ball carriers, his crazy reach let him knock people off their feet that no one else would have come close too.

Mike Roach/247 with CBs to Texas for --
RB Jaydon Blue (Klein Cain)
OL Devon Campbell (Arlington Bowie)
CB Jaylon Guilbeau (Port Arthur Memorial)

Guilbeau is a surprise get for sure. Blue and Campbell are players on which to build a really good team.

Here is what Roach wrote about them
Jaydon Blue - Texas went in early on Blue and the early leap paid off. Blue eventually finished a strong sophomore season and debuted in the 2022 Top247 at No. 80 nationally. Blue recently picked up an Alabama offer, but Texas was the only top school Blue named to have offered him prior to the Crimson Tide coming through. Texas appears to be going all out to land Blue in 2022, and the Longhorns have a head start on him.

Devon Campbell - I’ve gone back and forth on entering this crystal ball over the last couple of months, but I feel strong enough to get in now. Texas was the among the first five schools to offer Campbell, and he admitted multiple times that the Longhorns were really the only school he was thinking about. (ou) is a perceived threat, but Texas has a strong relationship at Bowie, and Hand prioritized Campbell early enough to make a big impact.

Jaylon Guilbeau - Out of all the prospects in a loaded 2022 defensive back class, it sounds like Jay Valai struck the strongest chord with Jaylon Guilbeau. The four-star cornerback visited Texas during the early part of the spring and came away impressed with what he saw. Since that time, Guilbeau built a strong relationship with Valai and company, and his teammate Jordon Thomas is also high on Texas. I’m unclear on when he might decide, but I like where Texas stands right now.

Four star Bishop Gorman (NV) outside linebacker Cyrus Moss and four star Spearman (TX) athlete Brenen Thompson were the latest recipients of scholarship offers from the Texas staff.
Brenen Thompson looks real special to my untrained eyes. Moss is athletic with good instincts that could be developed.
Two new offers extended for the 2022 class

Cyrus Moss is a LB from Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) and a potential 2022 5-star. It appears Coach Hutzler was already in contact with quite a few of the top defensive prospects for the 2022 class and got permission to keep pursuing them.
