2022 Recruiting - Football

Final 8 for 5-star WR Kevin Coleman Jr.
Looks like he added USC which will probably be BC's doing

2 in a row misses for Wiltfong. Sort of unusual
But he was not alone -- Lando got 8 CBs this week, all Texas, most with "high confidence "

Not a great look for Gideon either, who seemed to be on a roll ever since he got here. You might even say he had a recruit fall into his lap, but he still dropped it

In any event, we are going to sign a solid DB class, so no worries

Bit of a surprise. Bigger surprise is that we're hearing that he wasn't necessarily a take for Sark. We're in good shape with 2 higher calibre DB's. Sark definitely holding his cards close to the vest. Don't think this was on Gideon at all.

We have bigger fish to fry.
Besides, if we want him, we have the time. He may be a trap door candidate later.

I will only agree if we land those bigger fish, Hulliby was 4th best safety in Texas this cycle, we land 1, 2, or 3, then you are correct, if we have to settle for 5, 6, or 7 then he was a big loss.

Just my opinion, but I don't think Texas got out recruited for him, I think we tried to slow play him and he picked Oregon, again if we don't get the bigger fish this might come back to bite us.

Here is Nick Harris on WR Chris Marshall, who I love
".... Marshall exploded onto the scene this past season with huge numbers and production in his first season playing high school football, and the recruiting attention followed. Marshall is a guy that I full expect to get a high rating in the 2022 class update as he possesses a huge frame and elite ball skills. (aggy) and USC jumped out in front in this one, and the Aggies are starting to separate themselves. I have entered a Crystal Ball Prediction in favor of (aggy) with a confidence score of 5. I wouldn't count the Trojans out just yet though as they have been making a huge recruiting push in the Houston area in the 2022 class, especially since the hiring of Bryan Carrington."

Damn, now I'm drinking the Kool-aid

We are getting love from some of the big time OOS 5'star kids. If we can pull some of these guys in, Texas is going to be approaching Bama level class.

If Texas has a good season, look out, it's going to be skies the limit
