2022 Recruiting - Football

Another possible pipeline that would be nice is North Shore
A long time ago, they loved us. But not lately
However, Blake Gideon is friends with the North Shore OC.
Kyle Flood pulled 2 OLs from there in back to back years.
And Bo Davis coached there way back
So, hopefully, we can reestablish ourselves there

Also, on Gideon specifically, they say he is buddies with many of the younger generation of Texas high school coaches. We think he can be a bridge to them. At least unlock the door to get us in.

All of this matters because Sark is focussed on making a good impression with high school coaches out of the gates. Shades of the Mack Brown approach upon his arrival.

This would be a welcome change! TH screwed the pooch on Texas High School coaches.

New staff is making offers
2022 S Jacoby Mathews of Ponchatoula, LA
Seems like a good time to attempt to exploit trouble at LSU -- they do it to us all the time

Blue, Wheaton, L Johnson, B Robinson, R Johnson???

loaded if this were to happen but how to keep all happy....who redshirts
Wheaton is listed as a hard commit to another school ; Johnson is 50/50. If we are fortunate enough to get Johnson then yippee!
Getting both is a dream scenario. :)

The question would be would Westlake have won just as convincingly with Ewers at QB? After watching Ewers for two weeks in a row I am less than impressed - a lot of talent, but the top talent? Also as someone above mentioned his motion needs work.

Sark is one of, if not the, best QB evaluator and developer of QB talent in the country. I believe Sark is one of the best QB talent evaluators/developers in the country so If he thinks he can elevate Ewers he will push hard for him.

However there is one additional issue for Sark to think about. Texas hosts aOSU on 12 September 2026. That would be Ewers' natural (non-RS) senior season. If Sark is worried about facing a 4th year Ewers, he might push now just to eliminate that competition. On the other hand, if he feels by 20206 he will have someone better he might just let it go.
