2022 Recruiting - Football

All the discussion is around QE and Card. While I do think QE is the one to beat, we can’t sleep on our other QB commit. He’s pretty legit too.

QE is a generational qb. We are glad he is here. Murphy and Card have great potential also and certainly glad they are here also.
It is time to sit back and enjoy the ride and quit the pissing contests over who is better. We have never had a better future at the qb position than now!

I was a kid at the Cotton bowl in October 1977 when the gooners took out both Mark McBath and Jon Aune in a matter of minutes. We had to call Randy McEachern from the press box to play qb. The rest is history.
I have long been an advocate of having 3 top notch QB’s on the roster. Over the years, how often have we made it with with a healthy QB all season?
Not often! VY was an anomaly and so was Simms, they both took really hard hits and bounced back up.
Just look what happened this year when CT hurt his thumb, Card wasn’t quite ready.
Hopefully with 3 top guys in the QB room, we return to winning normalcy.

But we need pass pro when the defense over commits to stopping the run.
True, but look at how much D was on the field when offense began to sputter around game 6 or 7. Good O is best D, or something like that. Your point is valid, need good balance b/t D and O

I remember that game. Earl had that great TD run, score was 13-6?back when O was thuggish and D was brutal

The debate on Ewers is certainly interesting. Earlier today I clicked on the other UT vs Memphis BB game only to find out ther was no game.

So what was there? Joey and Manny arguing about the Texas QB situation. Not about Hudson but Casey.

I don't care if Manny played at Texas, he said some dumb stuff, as he always does. They posted Casey's stats and pointed out they were pretty damn good with a hurt thumb. Manny argued Casey needed to leave because Quinn being QB is a given and there's nothing Casey could do about it. Joey basically said Casey was afraid of competition and transferring was a loser attitude. No one has been annoited and Casey would have every chance to beat out Quinn and certainly could have done it.

I generally like what Joey says and agree. There's no guarantees and you never know what's going to happen. Winners and tough players aren't afraid of competition.

Right now Card has a leg up on the starting job due to experience and familiarity with the system. Whichever QB has that internal moxie and confidence knowing that whatever he attempts to do will be successful is the QB we need. Card fell flat on his face at first (some blamed that on the o-line which was convenient but mostly bogus). He was in such dire straits sometimes he just threw the ball haphazardly. But he seemed to get over his fears and looked more confident toward the end. We will see who he is.

With the current qb's on hand, Ewers walks in and is the starter day 1. And unfortunately I don't see any experienced qb's from the portal on the off chance they will be riding the pine behind a freshman wonderkin.

I heard we got OL Dunlap from Minnesota, I’d like to get 2 more experienced OL transfers to solidify line for next year while new pups learn. With our stable of RBs We could be a run heavy team with a serviceable passing game

Dunlap is still looking.

Harris may have made the quick decision because he was injured twice in today's game. Commit & sign before the doctor speaks on Monday.

Maybe the chance to play The University of Texas. It makes aggie boys and girls relevant again!
:whiteflag:

We've been kicking off at 11am almost all year long. They play on CBS at 2:30 or on espn, prime time. They're more relevant than we are.

Can we please be real? WE are looking more and more like a&m as time goes on. We used to make fun of them for bragging about recruiting hauls with no on field success to show for it in years. They were an easy target for their boasting w/o success. That's where we are

I'd rather wait and see how this staff pans out in year two before patting them on the back. If they don't figure this **** out we're in big trouble

It’s hard to watch that know it all Manny.
He needs to take notes n how his brother speaks.

I understand the disappointment with Harris and Stewart, but from the start of these discussions, I heard that we must recruit the tranches, and that is exactly what we did. If you would have asked me that we would have ended up with a top 10 recruiting class after only 5 wins, I would think we we were all on drugs. We built for the future with this class. Let’s all rejoice in our haul.

Well, they will go head to head and I trust Sark to make the correct decision.

Ewers has to have the advantage after going through a red shirt season.

For sure Ewers is the more polished QB. Malik is still a project but it’s great to see that room fill up with promise !

Watching Westlake v Guyer tonight, this has been my first chance to see Burke. Big ol' tall skinny kid kinda reminds me of Ted Hendricks, huge wingspan. Jaden Greathouse needs to be in our '23 class.

If we get perkins and Campbell the pain wont be as bad.
But we have recruited well this class. Our team is alot better. Plus maybe J Sanders will contribute.

My feeling is Perkins will go Aggy because this recruiting class is now on the verge if not already an all-star team. The 4 & 5 star DT's and DE's will help create the lanes a guy like him will want, especially if Micah Parsons of the Cowboys is the new prototypical LB who is moved all over.
