2022 Recruiting - Football

Does Ewers get graded in this class? He has 4 years and this is his class if he didn’t skip his senior year in HS.
 
Texas hired a coach who most consider to be one of the top Oline coaches in college and still cannot recruit the position. What is the reason?

If its true our o-line is bad then thats all the more opportunity to play. We have one of the best o-line coaches in the game.
So it seems to me the real reason for less than stellar recruiting is this IMO that o-line recruits tend to be more thoughtful, and brainier so they drink the cup of negative recruiting more deeply.
So its all about negative recruiting and the win/lost record, even despite top notch coaches.
A new factor is the NIL. Who will throw out the biggest bucks.
But we will see how this plays out.

Sorry if I'm being a downer, I haven't had my Iced tea yet this am, but if we only get 2-3 of the top 25 players in Texas while aggy gets 11 of them we are just following further behind.

Sarks and company are going to have to hit the portal hard to make it up! It is a good sign though that more then half of the recruits are EE.

Not sure what list you are looking at but we appear to have 11 of the top 50 from Texas off of the 247 recruiting site. I agree this is not ideal as PK and the D were a complete failure this year. In looking back its easy to see we lost a lot more in Dallas when Jacoby Jones went down than anyone thought. We also lost Whittington in that game. 1 or 2 players should not have been that big of an impact but they clearly were. You could see from the last game when Jones came back, he was a disrupter. Still PK is highly suspect!!!

All those EEs will get valuable experience and a few may help us next year. If Ewers signs he would be another spring player.

Ewers could help with a lot of these players especially where we are currently missing big, OL and WR. Seems Sark saved all of his in person visits this week which might help in some and hurt in a few. If he can go into our OL targets and say Ewers is coming, could make a difference. Might even be able to get some of our WR's targets to flip, or grab some of OU's transfers. I still can't figure out how Coleman has been so horrible when you can show X's results this year. Coleman has to go...

Plus we are getting overshown , Cook, and Jamison back.
I am already feeling a touch of 12-0 optimism for next season aren't you?:smokin:

I'm putting that to santa use this year and hit the weights in the spring.
But seriously this has been moving with the speed of a glacier. It was announced back in Sept that there was a NIL plan in the works.
Also could be a reason our OL targets haven't committed elsewhere. Sark er , a little birdy was may have been telling them to wait, just wait.
There is still legitimate concern with Dewberry to ags. It's believed we still get Campbell and his visit to usc is just another free joyride to LA. Always a concern when a recruit visits elsewhere. But if he's looking for a deal, usc can't come close to this.
