2022 Recruiting - Football

Denver Harris 2 CBs to bama.
I rarely curse, but i'm thinking about it.
Man i'm kinda getting disgruntled at '22 recruiting.
I need a fix.
I'm hoping for a good season. The more electric the better.

We're in a bit of a lull. That was expected. Unfortunately we didn't get the "new coach" push we would have liked.
This coaching staff doesn't have a product to sell yet. Recruits like Sark, Flood, Banks, and PK’s pitch. But they’ve seen over years guys at Texas fall short and crash and burn. Recruits are smart today. Fortunately our staff continues to work ,and expect a flip or 2 before the early signing period.
This staff's product launches on September 4th against the ULL.

Point well taken, cnb. There's an old marketing adage that says "Sell the sizzle, not the steak." The staff is "selling the sizzle" very well - but sooner or later customers will judge the "steak." The results on the field will be the "steak" - and a reputation for delivering the steak will bring in future customers.

LB Eoghan Kerry of Santa Ana, CA told OrangeBloods he will be an early enrollee at Texas.

Eoghan Kerry, Mater Dei, Linebacker
With his size/speed combo, he may end up at either hybrid defensive "end" position (Jack or Rush). Depends if he bulks up or stays about the same. Looks like a good take. Kwiatkowski is taking our big fast guys and making them hybrid LB/DEs, while our lighter / leaner fast guys (not talking about the even faster DBs) are at the MLB positions. Sort of the opposite of textbook classic D theory. It worked really well in the PAC and they pass a lot...

With an 11.34 hundred meters, all of Viper's Garland records are safe.

CNB,

4* Help me, what is the attraction? Normally it's size and/or speed.

I agree. If Sark has a solid season and a bowl win against a top ranked team, heads will turn. As you point out right now they see the glitz and glitter, but want to see the actual performance of the product. I don't believe a 7-5 season will move the needle much, but an 11-2 (including a bowl win) would, and that would be a pretty good steak.

Honestly, not really sure. Has all the tools but has been a bit flakey. Could well be they are not comfortable with the position were in with the current WR offers.

Sounds like we are trending for Justice Finkley.

Top247 DE Justice Finkley closing in on his college decision

The blue-chipper with 30-plus offers spoke on his finalists. An aspiring neurosurgeon or plastic surgeon, Finkley took an official to all three in June.

Regarding the Crimson Tide: “If I went to Alabama it would be a straight iron sharpens iron, and I’d get to play with some of the best guys in college football, first round draft projections that would make me better as a player"

Regarding the Buffaloes: “I think it’s somewhere I can really shine and dominate the Pac 12 conference while also having good internships.”

Regarding the Longhorns: “Texas has a great mix of football and academics. Their medical school is right on campus and their medical center and them going to the SEC is an added bonus too.”

For someone that is very interested in his education, that sounds very, very promising from a Texas POV. Texas was the only one he mentioned the academics, specifically the medical school.

Bosco!!

This generation's Ron Morris or Hart Lee Dykes or Ron Curry?

Maybe he winds up like Houston's lineman from Wiemar whose mother took the money, the kid failed to graduate & had to go to juco, but third ward had to pay mom monthly while he was there; THEN she reopened bidding for his services after juco. Third Ward coughed up more cash, but the kid got caught robbing a store and went to jail instead of the football field.

If he has a street agent or "handler", no thanks. Send him on to Ohio State, FSU, the convicts, or Mike Locksley now.
Looks like the atm and Georgia are the 2 finalists for Bear.
