How about a good rumor … I have not posted this before but one rumor I read is that the week after OU, we will announce that Texas will be playing in the SEC in 2022 and that will flip some big time recruits to the good guys … ty LHN buyout :hookem::hookem:

Thanks for popping the top on this one. I've been sitting on it for a week and a half. Debating on posting it. Lol
Goes like this.
Texas may lay out an announcement around or after the OU game. It may or may not be in conjunction with OU but Texas will announce we are paying the exit fees to the Big 12 to join the SEC in 2022.

Can't speak for OU but everyone seems to think they will pay too.

I've seen this spoken of at TFB and my buddy down in Austin has said as much as well. Also making the rounds with piggie insiders. ( Talk about intrigue.)

If this happens, there will be 1-3 recruits who will commit or flip to us. At least one of them is a 5-star.

If we leave after Oct 9th, does anyone know over what period of time the exit fee must be paid? End of the season, two years…five years?
 
I have not read the contract but I suspect it is upfront now in thirty days. That's what the "left behinds" are hoping for. We can afford to wait them out, particularly if the PAC, BigTen, & ACC pull off a deal. Clemson, GT, & FSU were going to have to pay the ACC immediately when they applied to the Big XII. Will Kansas be asked for $$$ if they go to the BigTen? What about Iowa State?

A minor factor to keep in mind is that Fred Smith offered to pay FSU's exit fee if they would take Memphis with them. (Smith's son was Memphis QB, but how reliable are FedEx deals?) Loserville offered Clemson the same thing.

The PAC is arrogant and thinks they have the least "dead weight". BigTen has some hangers-on, most particularly Delany's TV grab with Maryland & Rutgers. Swofford saddled the ACC with pure crap in Pitt, Syr-excuse, Loserville, & ND Lite, and to a lesser extent the convicts, who are a financial disaster.

With Delany & Swofford "retired", which one of the three stooges will lead that cluster? Keep in mind that Kevin Warren makes Bowelsby look smart.

I'm so confused...
To woo a bigtime defensive recruit shouldn't we try and go "All brakes. No gas"??
