I didn't realize she was born outside of US. I honestly have a bit of an issue with that. I don't think naturalized citizens should be allowed to hold office. I still think most 1st and 2nd Gen's have too much loyalty to their origin country to hold US office.

What about local office like mayor or school board?
 
Believe it or not, some states wait till August for their primary. So, election season is about to enter the doldrums until then. Dems can ignore their fate until Labor Day.
 
An interesting thing about the Flores win - I looked into her opponent (Dan Sanchez) a little, and he wasn't a left-wing kook. In fact, he was vocally pro-life. When he lost, he complained that the DCCC put little effort into his race even though it was winnable. I wonder if his not being a wingnut had something to do with their lack of help.
 
And now she is going after AOC and Squad for being against America.
How will Demx attack her?

It is a thorny issue and one that we are unlikely to ever do anything about, but I don't believe 1st Gen's should be able to hold any office (local >>> Federal). They are not a monolith but many 1st Gen's and even 2nd Gen's cling to their respective diasporas (for understandable reasons). but this then disincentivizes melting into our melting pot. and when this happens many become disenchanted with America because they are not reaping the benefits of America as soon or as easily as they think they should. This breeds resentment and in some, hatred of America. (e.g. The Squad)

I understand the concern as well, but I also understand the US Constitution has always said US Reps have to be US citizens for at least seven years. Not native born.
 
I never understood how seizing private property of private citizens, even "oligarch private citizens " is punitive to a government.
Why don't we sell them?
Selling them has to be as legal as seizing them.

Get it straight. The issue is Taking care of your children.
Herschel has said he acknowledges loves and supports his children.
No baby mama has had to take him to court to get support that I know of
It may not be the way most of us would live but it is not unusual

And as long as he is supporting his kids Demx need to look to their own before trying to use it to politcally damage an opponent.

Remember Hunter's baby mama had to go to court to force a DNA test and get support.
Grandma Jill still does not recognize her own grandbaby.

Meth? What’s wrong with you? Walker’s campaign has been critical of absentee African American fathers.

Absent fathers. Maybe he should have read the room and not campaigned on that part.

I hesitate to say it, but I'm on Team Switzer on this, and with all due respect, you two are full of ****. There's nothing wrong with criticizing the black community about absentee fathers. It's the defining challenge of their community and has been for the last 60 years, and nothing has been a greater cause of black social, economic, and cultural problems.

However, if Walker has been making babies out of wedlock, he is in no position to launch that criticism. It isn't because he's wrong. It's because he doesn't have the credibility. And so what if he hasn't been derelict in his child support obligations? Failing to pay child support is bad, but it's not the root of the problem or even close to it. If failure to pay child support was the big problem in the black community, then kids raised by single moms getting a government check would be just as well off as kids with dads in the home, which obviously isn't true.

The real problem is the dad not living with the children and raising them day in and day out. That is the real work of being a father, and it's what makes the difference between being a good father and a crappy father. That's why a poor man can be a great father and a rich man can be a terrible one (even if he pays his child support and spends a lot of money on his kids). The absent father is the root of the problem in the black community, and it sounds like Walker was an absent father himself. Shame on him for it, and his criticisms, though true, ring hollow because of his hypocrisy.

Is there a credible link or source showing Walker is refusing to provide support or refusing to acknowledge these kids?
Are these kids all in one place and he is refusing them attention?
BTW
These kids, names and ages were all disclosed in 2018 when Walker was named to POTUS Physical Fitness Council.
So he acknowledges them, supports them.
How Does he not have credibility??
