2022 House and Senate election

It does depend in a sense, but I would rather have cultural Protestants who don't believe in the Bible than atheists 100% of the time. Atheists also don't believe in the Bible and they also don't have any of the cultural values that I have.

But do they share your values? Richard Dawkins is closer to my values than supposed Protestant Kamala Harris is. He at least believes in free speech and inquiry.

How Protestant is kammie? She grew up with her Mother who is Hindu. She went to Temple with her Mother and supposedly a Baptist church.Which had the greater influence? An hour a week at a Baptist church or all the time in an Indian/Hindu home?

I was thinking more cultural Christians who aren't really believers.

I don't consider Kamala Protestant or Christian culturally. Her values are based on critical race theory not the Bible.

This is true, but can an atheist be a cultural Christian? I think one can be. What I see to be the bigger problem is self-proclaimed Christians who don't respect God's word.

There is a common assumption that people's religion is whatever they claim it to be. I don't buy that. Anyone can claim to be of any faith at any time. To me the real question is what holy scripture one reveres. That removes the cherry pickers looking for a faith that fits their predetermined morality.

I think they can. But I think there are fewer of them than people who say "I believe God exists" but don't go to church or "practice" the religion, and then share my values.

As to the second sentence, that is just about everybody in my opinion, so I am not the guy to comment on that in relation to politics.

I agree with you here to. I have heard the concept as being a "practical atheist". The person lives out their life as if God doesn't exist even they make a claim. But I think there is a distinction when looking at people's politics vs. their religion.

His common sense comment is the story. It's controversial because so many on the Left do not want to enforce the law, either because they are pathological "good" people or racists (LULAC's, La Raza). I have a friend in Laredo (an elderly woman) who posted the pic below. That's how many of them think. It's racism in my view because they are obsessed with their own culture. You literally cannot reason with them and the only reason she hasn't blocked me is because she likes my poems and I've not said a word about stuff like this. I avoid it completely on Facebook. There's no upside. Luckily, enough people in Laredo think straight so there's hope for common sense. I'm in favor of taking care of the Dreamers but not until we see a real commitment from the Left to enforce the laws. Sanctuary cities must be banned and the type of mind-set expressed in the picture must be marginalized.

Like I've said before, if Democrats start listening to Fetterman, we're going to have our hands full. They will be much tougher to beat.

Democrats went from telling America what it wants to hear then doing what they want, to telling America what they're going to do and what America needs to endure before they do it.

Bystander, this is an excellent statement. We have laws governing immigration, and the Democrats have chosen not to support and enforce those laws. They saw the results of the election - maybe they will turn back to center (and abandon the far-left) and see the wisdom in your statement.

In a vacuum, I think even most Republicans would be ok with letting Dreamers stay. The problem is that it's never really about the Dreamers. They are simply the political weapon being used to justify grossly poor border enforcement in general.

It reminds me of the Syrian refugee issue here in Europe. Like the Dreamers, actual Syrian refugees were a group that was worthy of some sympathy. Few would turn away women, children, and elderly people whose country was in the middle of a horrific civil war. But they ended up being the political weapon, not the real issue. The real issue was a massive influx of "migrants" (nor refugees), who were largely hordes of adult men from places like Eritrea, Pakistan, Algeria, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.

Families with Dreamers in School (up to 5 years of college) can stay until the Dreamer either completes 5 years of college or quits school. After either of those events, the illegal mother and/or father have to go back and come back in the correct way.

I think they should pay $25k if they want to buy themselves in.

I'm not interested in jacking somebody's sh1t that hard just because his mom and dad smuggled him across the border as a toddler.

Personally, I took a dump on the floor of the UN lobby in New York when I was a toddler, and nobody pulled citizenship or charged me $25K for that. Lol

The Senate confirmation hearings on Hegseth went as expected. No Dem will ever vote for him
Hope he swayed a couple of RINOS. He will be a soldier's SecDef

That is a perfect statement for that organization!
