Seeing stuff on social media that one of Vic’s old coaches will be returning. Lovato is the most likely candidate, possibly as associate head coach?Don’t be surprised if Lovato doesn’t come back. Carter would be my other guess.

Yep it’s out there verbally but I hadn’t seen any media on it yet.Seeing a lot of stuff on social media that one of Vic’s old coaches will be returning. Lovato is the most likely candidate, possibly as associate head coach?
Can you share the links?Seeing stuff on social media that one of Vic’s old coaches will be returning. Lovato is the most likely candidate, possibly as associate head coach?
Jerald Davis runs Chicago Hoops Express (Brianna McDaniel’s club team):Can you share the links?
Exactly.I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a P5 HC willingly leave for an assistant role. I bleed Burnt Orange as much as anyone, but leaving WSU to come to Texas as an assistant would absolutely be a step down.
She just led WSU to B2B NCAA tournaments for the first time in program history, most wins in program history and best Pac12 finish in program history. She’s not leavingExactly.
Now, if a head coach no longer wants the responsibility of that leadership, I can see taking a step down to remain in the coaching industry (and earn a pay check) as plausible.
I wasn't talking about her specifically. Some head coaches get burned out eventually. She just led WSU to B2B NCAA tournaments for the first time in program history, most wins in program history and best Pac12 finish in program history. She’s not leaving
Yep, and this verbiage from the job posting seems to indicate just that.If they do the same thing my company does, 1 job req can have multiple positions hired from it.
Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball

I’m pretty sure it’s 7, at least that’s how long the one Gary Patterson hired into was open when he was announced.Remind me, is there a minimum number of days a job opening is required to be posted before a hire can be announced?

10 business days unless something has changed I'm unaware of.It was posted four days ago so if it is a seven-day requirement, we're almost there (assuming it is not 7 business days).

I just want the best qualified. It didn't work out for former Longhorns players like Jamie Carey and Tiffany Jackson because they just didn't have the coaching experience needed, IMO.With Tai Dillard coaching at UH, I’d rather have one of our own. And if we’re being honest, with Nneka, Tai, Edwina, Aimee Bradley, Clarissa Davis and Stacey Stephens all currently coaching it would be nice if the staff were all former players. Nina Norman has also stayed close to the game as she is currently training to become an NBA official. Oh and Anissa Hastings is also a successful HS coach in the SA area. Plenty of options
I know it’s a pipe dream, but it would make me happy.
Agreed. We’ve had pretty good luck with an aggy and a sooner in charge the past couple of years. I don’t care where they come from as long as it isn’t a Baylor bear.It just want the best qualified.
Yep. Johnnie had the posts, Dionnah the guards.Did she coach the wings/forwards under Vic?
