This has nothing to do with UTSA or KA. Vic told a couple of them they weren’t a fit in his program and told them to look elsewhere.
 
Happy for Karen. She had a solid coaching record at UT with close to 68% winning percentage. I read where her 4 trips taking Texas to the sweet 16 was the first time since 1990. She just couldnt get over the hump of beating Baylor but thats a problem a lot of people have. I firmly believe Vic is an elite coach and will take Texas farther than Karen but hats off to Karen for the job she did.

I did as well this morning...only 2 seniors and 1 junior. If they’ve completed their degrees, they could be ready to move on.
 
Celeste has this as her pinned tweet from last year when Vic was hired. If she leaves I would be very surprised.

 
Sad to see her go!!! Wish her the best and thanks for sharing your time and gift with us..... Now we move on. I trust Vic will keep this ship moving forward!!!

Ruined my day - my favorite player on the roster since I saw how she played for the Team USA junior squads.

I don't know why anyone here is shocked... or worried for that matter. The kid gave us all she had the past month but her pending departure was almost obvious to me.

Everyone deserves to be happy and Coach Vic will get the most out of whatever he has when all is said and done.

Whatever the reason(s), wherever she goes I hope she continues to develop to her full potential.

I got the sense when she returned home during the lockdown that she really felt the distance and I was nervous at the time. When she came back for the season, I hoped it was something she had worked through and would stay.

She said in her media conference that when she first came to Texas shd wanted to be away, BUT didn't know there was going to be a pandemic and it's been really hard not being able to see her family. Big Longhorn hugs to her and again wishing her all the best.
 
I can't lie, I'm a little hurt by this one and did not expect it. Especially after how great she played in the tournament. I thought Vic's system was perfect for her but oh well, best of luck to her and wish her nothing but the best. I see where this team is headed and I do expect some more to enter the portal but that only means we are going to add some big transfers.
 
Good luck to her. I think she ends up at Notre Dame or Uconn. Vic better get on the line and start finding some transfers.
 
For next season, should we assume that we will revert back to the transfer rules that were in place prior to COVID? That is, incoming transfers will need to sit a year unless the NCAA grants a waiver so that the player transferring is not required to sit out a year?

The NCAA will meet after the final four to vote on the one-time transfer rule (not related to the COVID blanket waiver) that has been in discussions for a couple of years. Word is it will be voted in favor of. We shall see.

I'd expect at least two more... possibly three.
